Communication Method Between F8&G8 with RAMS
Wireline F-800 Payphone to RAMS – Direct dialing after
acquisition of dial tone RAMS to Payphone – Direct dialing after
acquisition of dial toneWireless G-800
Payphone to RAMS – Connects to GPRS network and sends login & password
RAMS to Payphone – RAMS send FICRAMS SMS code to payphone and upon receipt payphone wakes up and connect to RAMS via GPRS network
Maintenance Call & Call from RAMS Simulation
Troubleshooting Procedure Test call
User trouble diagnosis Dial tone or input power checking
Filter board, Jacketed wire, Station protector AC cable input, Adaptor output
Electrical property measurement Inspection of alarm port, DIP switch & watch dog
jumper Cable & grounding connection inspection Component visual inspection Maintenance menu

Component replacement
Possible Causes of Not Reporting PhonesF-800
Line/network related NDT at line - Dead set & 0 line voltage Scratchy/noisy line - From butt set, can hear scratches during
conversation Grounded line - From butt set, can hear humming sound before or
during conversation Congested network - Can hear from handset network congestion AVR
or fast busy tone Unit related
Defective mainboard - Dead set or LCD lighted but with line voltage & dial tone
Defective filter board - Unit normally operating but sometimes has noise during conversation
Wrong setting - Does not initiate call to RAMS or immediately shutdown
Mainboard not initialize - Hears handshaking but does not continue to data transmission
RAMS related Modem call collision - Hears busy ringback tone Non-responsive modem - Always hear ringback tone High RAMS processor usage - Hears handshaking but does not continue to data
transmission
G-800 GPRS Network related
Intermittent signal - Enters EO state but not successful No signal - A1,A2… reinitialize Congested network - Enters EO state but not successful
Unit related No supply power - Dead set Defective mainboard - Dead set or LCD lighted but with input
voltage Defective GSM module - Module init fail Wrong IP port or login - TR1, C1, C2…… F0,, then reinitialize
account DIP switch set to PROG - Module init fail No SIM or dirty contact - Insert SIM card
RAMS related Comm control restarted - Enters EO state but not successful High RAMS processor usage- Enters EO state but not successful
Possible Causes of Not Reporting Phones
Correct Collection Procedure1. Lift handset
Verify presence of both dial tone and back lighted logo If either or both is absent, collection is not recommended.
2. Insert correct vault lock key.3. Enter electronic lock access code *#5.4. Enter electronic lock password and press # to enter5. After LCD displays “Open Successful” and hearing a “click” coming from E-
lock, turn the key 180 degrees counter-clockwise to open the E-lock6. Insert T-wrench into slot and turn 45 degrees clockwise7. Open the vault door8. Remove coin box9. Wait for collection report to complete. Reporting is indicated by “Please Wait”
“Payphone Downloading” LCD message.10. Insert new empty coinbox
“C-Box Missing” message must be displayed first before inserting the new coinbox. Ensure the lid aperture door is in open state before insertion the empty coinbox
11. Close the vault door12. Turn T-wrench 45 degrees counter-clockwise and remove T-wrench13. Turn vault door key 180 degrees clockwise and remove the vault door key14. Replace handset to cradle
Collection Related ProblemsProblem Cause Solution
Shutdown after *#5 Password expired Request for property download
Password failed Wrong password Get latest password from PMS
Open failed -Defective/Elock control PCB-Loose/detach/cut cable-Defective Elock assembly board
-Replace Elock control PCB-Replace/fix cable-Forcibly open vault
Open Successful (No click)
Stuck up piston -Pound housing near Elock assembly by rubber mallet
Open Successful (Faint click)
Stuck up piston -Pound housing near Elock assembly by rubber mallet-Turn the key right after “Open Successful”
Proper Elock Assembly Installation
Proper Upper Housing Closure Option-1
1. Open upper housing2. Perform maintenance activity3. After fixing the problem, enter maintenance menu &
execute 4-1/4-34. Wait for completion of reporting5. Close upper housing
Option-21. Open upper housing2. Perform maintenance activity3. After fixing the problem, enter maintenance menu4. Close upper housing while in maintenance menu5. Execute 4-1/4-3
Housing Activity Simulation
REMINDERS Do not execute erase data during troubleshooting, Erase data
feature in maintenance menu must only be use when activating a newly installed payphone or mainboard.
Do not disconnect the line during troubleshooting if not necessary because electronic password will automatically expire
Do not interrupt payphone communication with RAMS as indicated “Please Wait, Payphone Downloading” in LCD. Do not open or close upper housing door while phone is in communication state
Ensure that payphone number in setting match the line telephone number before executing initial call or data restore call
When disconnecting the cables, hold firmly from the connectors, not from the wires.
