Step 3Using a T25 torx bit, remove the 7 screws that hold the plastic ring to the back of the factory spare tire carrier assembly.

Step 4Using a T25 torx bit, remove the 2 screws that attach the 3rd. brake light to the plastic ring. Hang on to these screws for reuse later!

Step 5Unplug the electrical connection plug on the bottom of the light and set the light asside.

Step 6Using a T25 torx bit, begin unscrewing the 2 screws on the face of the tire carrier. Unscrewing both of them a little ways will allow for removal of the the sheet meetal bracket that the spare tire wheel studs are pressed into.

Step 7Remove the sheet metal bracket with the wheel studs in it.

Step 8Back to the 2 screws on the face of the tire carrier, continue using a T25 torx bit, and remove the 2 screws.

Step 9You will now remove the plastic back-up camera mount bracket. In most cases, you will see that there is interference in the screw hole area that will stick the camera mount to the spare tire mount. From the wheel mounting side of the tire mount, usa a fat phillips screw-driver and tap the camera mount out of the tire mount screw holes. Be VERY careful to keep ahold of the camera so it does not fall!

Step 10Using the T8 torx bit that is supplied in this kit, remove the 3 tiny screws that hold the camera into the camera mount.

Step 11Very carefully unplug the electrical connection plug on the camera.

Step 12Using the 3 supplied #3 socket head allen screws and a 5/64” allen wrench, install the camera into the new camera mount.

Step 13Now, using the 2 supplied #10 socket head allen screws and and a 5/32” allen wrench, attach the camera mount to the new 3rd. brake light & camera mount bracket. Note the clocking of the camera mount before installing! See the small, #3 screw at the bottom for reference.

Step 14Install the factory 3rd. brake light onto the new bracket, using it’s original torx screws.

Step 15Very carefully reconnect the camera’s electrical connection plug.

Step 16Next, carefully reconnect the 3rd. brake light’s electrical connection plug.

Step 17Now, using the 2 supplied 1/4”-20 button head allen screws, 1/4” fl at washers and 1/4”-20 nyloc nuts and a 5/32” allen wrench and 7/16” wrench, install the 3rd. brake light & camera mount assembly onto the tailgate panel. The bolts install from the bottom up, with the nuts on top, inside the light bracket.

Step 18Slotted holes on the light bracket allow you to position the bracket to be a nice, clean, tight fi t to the panel when installing.

Step 19The fi nished assembly should look like this.

Step 20Next, fi nd the 4 supplied fl at head allen bolts and slide them thru the 4 mounting holes in the face of the panel

Step 21On the inside of the panel, install the 4 aluminum spacers and the nylon washers. The nylon washers assist in holding the spacers in place for installation.

Step 22Start all of the allen bolts into the threaded holes in the tailgate and then tighten with a 5mm allen wrench.Installation is now complete! Double check function of the 3rd. brake light and the back-up camera before operating your vehicle.

Should you choose to mount your license plate to the tailgate cover, inside the back of the cover, you will fi nd a series of pre-centerpunched dimples for license plate mounting. Choose the set of 2 or4 holes that work the best for your application, drill, and mount yourlicense plate! For legal purposes, in most states, you will need to address the legalrequirement for a license plate light. On our vehicle we used thelighted head bolts that are commonly available from aftermarketwarehouses.
