Cheval des Andes 2013 | Argentina £195.00This collaborative effort of the esteemed Château Cheval Blanc and Terrazas de Los Andes would see a seamless fusion of the very best of French savoir faire, with the very best high-altitude terroirs of Argentina, a union of old and new worlds that would lead to a single, extraordinary wine. It displays an intense red colour with purple reflections in the glass. On the nose, this wine is very subtle, yet precise, offering fresh aromas of violet and pepper along with warm, ripe fruits, including raspberry and black fruits. It is very full in body, with concentrated flavours and a very fine tannic structure. The finish of this wine is tense, with a gorgeous acidity and freshness at the very end.

Rémy Martin Louis XIII

A truly stunning Cognac from Rémy Martin. It is blended from around 1,200 different eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne appellation, and some of the spirit was distilled more than 100 years ago.

CharacterOver the decades, a mysterious communion between the air, the wood and the eaux-de-vie culminates in a magical firework of flavours and aromas, evoking myrrh, honey, dried roses, plum, honeysuckle, cigar box, leather, figs and passionfruit. Louis XIII develops intense aromas which persist more than one hour on the palate. The myriad of reflections and colours dancing in the light ranges from assertive and flamboyant golden hues to marvellous reflections of mahogany, all the way up to fiery red. “LOUIS XIII is a wave of sensations that carries you away” says Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau.

Glenfarclas 40yoGlenfarclas’ stunning 40 year old Whisky launched during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2010. It offers all of the Sherried Glenfarclas character and exceptional maturity too.

CharacterVery complex and rich. Calves leather, cedar wood cigar boxes and cocoa kicking things off. Then we’re onto waves of sweet Sherry, chocolate orange, marmalade and butterscotch. Hints of molasses develop with just a whisper of pepper.

About as rich and intense as anything from Glenfarclas. The chocolate richness develops in the glass, with notes of chocolate raisins, dates and figs, orange and maraschino cherry. Then spices and thick espresso coffee.
