The Practising Midwife is the leading journal for midwives and all health professionals connected with pre-conception care, pregnancy, birth and neonatal matters. Times ahead are exciting as we have introduced new and challenging themes focused on supporting midwives in practice and we have now launched our breath taking new website (practisingmidwife.co.uk). We retain our characteristic qualities, with regular advancing practice, midwifery basics, evidence series and pertinent articles, but you will find us at the forefront of innovation in the areas we cover. Our readers tell us that TPM is quite simply the best journal for staying informed in an eminently readable form.

MIDIRS (Midwives Information & Resource Service) is a charity whose mission is to support midwives and students in providing a positive birth experience. We achieve this through disseminating high-quality, evidence-based information via the quarterly journal, MIDIRS Midwifery Digest, and the unique midwifery-specific MIDIRS Reference Database.

Trusted by maternity health care professionals and studentsworldwide to support them in their practice and studies, MIDIRScan help you:

Naitbabies are a registered Charity in England & Wales run by families who have the genetic disorder "Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia – NAIT " (also known as FNAIT or FMAIT). NAIT is currently not routinely screened for in pregnancy although 1 in 1000 live births are suspected to be affected. Naitbabies provide support, advocacy and practical assistance to families around the world affected by NAIT.

Bio-Oil also contains a unique ingredient called PurCellin Oil™, which lowers the viscosity of the formulation so that it can be easily absorbed deeper into the skin, rather than acting superficially on the surface.

As a grieving family we decided we wanted to do something to help make a devastating experience a little more bearable by letting families know they are not alone. We do this by providing hospitals, hospices and funeral directors across the U.K with memory boxes, for families who suffer the trauma of miscarriage, stillbirth, infant and child death up to the age of 18. 4Louis have progressed over the years and have now provided over 160 Cuddle cot units to allow the families to spend extra precious time with their little ones. We have helped and funded Study days and many bereavement suites with in hospital maternity and neonatal units as well as providing funding for study days.

Most of us wouldn’t think twice about insuring our home, car, TV or smart phone, so why don’t we feel the same about protecting our families? Perhaps it’s because we assume that when our lives come to an end, we’ll be old and our loved ones will be financially secure and taken care of. If we do live a long and happy life, we may at some point suffer an illness or accident that prevents us from earning an income. It’s therefore sensible to consider how best you’d protect your finances and those of your family if the worst were to happen.

That’s where we come in. Visit Owl Financial on stand 29 to find out how we can help

Confident Birth is a physiological and modern method of birth and delivery. The method is about how it is possible to give birth safely, and with the help of the physiology activate the body's amazing innate ability. The method and book is based on physiological knowledge as respiratory physiology and stress physiology, as well as the existing evidence on the importance of support. In addition to our childbirth preparation classes for parents the method is taught in the country's midwifery schools and given as training to the hospitals and other units. Our advanced training in health care focuses on reducing the influence of fear and stress in the delivery room. Our childbirth preparation gives the parents the knowledge of the vital breath, and how they can help the body's physiology and nutrition, in order to achieve a safe and peaceful birth as possible.

On this site we feature the latest news on developments in midwifery practice, comment and opinion from our speakers and other sector leaders as well as the latest industry product news.

We also feature hours of videos recorded at our events, with in depth analysis of the issues raised. Visit Midwifery Forum today, and don’t forget to sign up to the newsletter!

The MMF Video Archive Did you know all of the presentations at our Maternity & Midwifery events have been filmed and recorded?

That’s right; we try and keep a permanent record of every speaker presentation made at a MMF event. So if you missed out on a particular speaker or weren’t able to attend an event you can still catch up on demand!
