Introduction
Who are we? Voces Latinas is a collective of artists, writers, activists, journalists and thinkers with the common goal to develop our Latino community in the areas of Health, Education and Culture. The group was founded in 2014 by Luis Ramirez, Larissa Davila and Samantha Ramirez. Key members joined the group right after it started.
Objetive
The objective is to get the community involved with creative events to develop talent and perpetuate the Latin American cultural legacy
We seek to connect our youth with existing community groups focusing their energy and passion in positive activities

What is the Festival?A simple way to describe it is:“Latin American Arts Potluck”
Main Objectives
1. Unite the community
2. Remind Latinos their roots and backgrounds
3. Educate youth about their culture
4. Promote local talent
5. Connect the community with existing organizations that support culture & arts
6. Preserve our Hispanic heritage

What is our target market?ALL!
Our target market is the general population with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds without exceptions.
The event is free and open to the public
Planning
Disciplines to be included in the event are Dance, Theater, Art Galleries, Films, Folklore, Gastronomy and Music.
Voces Latinas maintains an organizing committee and invites the community to represent their country in each discipline included in the event.
A coordinator will be assigned by discipline as primary point of contact for participants.
Pre-Festival Events
Writting Contest for Children (7-14)
Contest running from August 15th to September 15th Stories can be submitted in English, Spanish or bilingual Judges will qualify based in literary creativity and technique (In a 3 year lapse, C Group will be incorporated to the contest including grammar for advanced levels) .The 10 finalists will be notified September 28th.The first 3 places for each category will be awarded at the Festival in October 3rd.Every child that participates will receive a Participation Certificate.

Pre-Festival Events
Brunch del Sombrero para DamasThe Brunch invites ladies of the community to support the arts in a fun fashion with friends. The Brunch will take place in a recognized restaurant in the city of Austin. The lady that has the biggest and most creative hat will be the winner of the event. A non-monetary prize will be awarded to the queen of the Hat Party and she will be the queen of the Hat Party for the year 2015.

The fundraising committee is still considering to organize other events to find as much funds as possible to cover for the expenses of the event including services and artists donations.
