YouR HoteL -tHe viLLa oLmiVilla Olmi Resort is a luxurious five star hotel set in an 18th-century villa on a six-hectare estate and is one of the

most beautiful properties at the gates of Florence. Along with the centuries-old park and splendid Italian gardens,

Villa Olmi has a unique history dating back to the 15th century. For centuries it was the country home of some of

the most important families and a vital center of trade and culture between the city and country. Over the centuries

it was modified and enlarged to become the Florence hotel it is today. Thanks to its location, Villa Olmi Resort is one

of the most exclusive, and easiest to reach hotels in the Florence area and all of Tuscany. Villa Olmi Resort is truly

unique and offers unequalled privacy. The resort has recently been restored to its original, sophisticated beauty under

the watchful eye of the Government Service for Monuments (Soprintendenza ai Monumenti di Firenze), and then

buildings, the Villa, the Fattoria and the Colonica, are now elegant hotel facilities. The 12 suites in the Villa are among

the finest examples of rural-patrician architecture, with fine marble decorations and frescoes. The Fattoria offers 38

rooms, from fully equipped mini-suites to rooms with private gardens. Each room is furnished with handpicked

antiques and faithfully reflects the original style. The Colonica has four suites designed for privacy in a tiny “hamlet”

that was restored with skill and taste. Plasma televisions and wireless Internet are a few of the modern amenities and

osteRia Di passignanoThe Badia di Passignano (The Abbey of Passignano), located in the Chianti Classico region, is an ancient monastery

dating back to 395 a.d., when the archbishop of Florence established it. Even today it is still inhabited by monks of

the Vallombrosian Order, who remain the guardians of their cultural and historical treasures. Marcello Crini, a great

connoisseur and enthusiast of the traditional Tuscan cuisine and wine culture, and Allegra Antinori founded the

Osteria di Passignano. The Antinori family owns the vineyards around the Abbey, from which the Chianti Classico

Reserve wine “Badia a Passignano” is produced, and which is aged in the cellars beneath the monastery. This restau-
