Well we had a great September, I want to thank

everyone for all of their support with the Poker Run and the Chili Cook-off. I

also want to thank the bartenders for stepping up and taking time out of their

days and nights to keeping the lodge up and going.

Ok, lets get down to the Big Winners on the Poker Run: We had Walt Mace

coming in at first place, Doris Berigtold coming in second and Jim Konrad,

third place with the poker hands and then with the 50/50 drawing Doris won

the Pop Up tent.

And on the Chili Cook-off we had Jemel Mueller winning First Place, Gary

(Snake) Smith winning Second Place and Jana’e Durrant winning Third

Place.

The Ladies are planning on having Bingo and the dates are shown elsewhere

in this letter. We are looking forward to Bingo as it will be a fun time for one

and all.

We still need help with the kitchen cooking and cleaning up afterword. We still

need Bartenders.

FROM OUR SOCIAL QUARTERS MANAGER

STACY LIND

Greetings all,

I hope this find everyone enjoying the cooler weather. I’m getting

ready to leave for vacation. We had a busy month in September and

looking at the calendar for October:

The first fun activity we have planned for October is Bingo. The

first Bingo day is October 6th from 2pm to 4pm. The next bingo day is

October 15th from 7pm to 9pm. The third bingo day will be October

21st from 7pm to 9pm. Please come join us for the fun.

Next we will have our annual Lodge birthday party on October

12th. We will be having a Turkey dinner that night so please come en-

joy the celebration.

The cribbage tournament is almost over so time for a new tourna-

ment. The next tournament will be darts and will start on October

23rd. Please sign up in the social quarters if you would like to play.

On October 26th the legion is doing an Oktoberfest dinner. We will

have Karaoke after dinner. So, come eat some German food and sing

the night away.

On October 31st starting at 6pm we will be doing a trunk or treat

for all the kids on Halloween. Please either bring your kids down to

get candy or decorate your trunk to hand out candy. You could even

do both. This is open to everyone so tell all your friends.

We will continue to have King of Clubs drawings on Monday nights.

We are also still having hot dogs and Ship Captain and crew on Fri-

day nights. The more people to play the funnier it is so come enjoy the

night.

That’s all for this month. Until next month stay safe and make lots of

memories and remember Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

STACY

Legionnaires,

Just a quick reminder that the Fernley Moose Legion meetings are on the

4th Saturday of the month at 4:30 pm in the meeting room. Our meetings

should be brief, but I encourage you to bring your ideas and suggestions

as they will only help make our lodge the place to have fun and strengthen

our position in the organization. Following our meeting Bill and Tamara

are planning a fabulous Oktoberfest, I won't spoil you with the menu, but

plan on joining us for a memorable feast on the 26th. After all that, Sheriff

will be hosting a night of karaoke, so bring your voice and dancing shoes

for a wonderful evening!!!!

We also have the Legion breakfast on the 1st Sunday of the month from 9-

11 am.

It is time, again to help families in need in our community. We are starting

to collect canned goods and non-perishable items, There will be boxes

available to deposit these items into, which will be located in the social

quarters. Next time you go shopping please consider grabbing a couple of

items, so we can assist a few families this holiday season. Questions?

Please ask any Legion officer.

I want to thank all of our members who have stepped up and supported

our Lodge by donating their time and financial resources that keep our

doors open. As I have stated before you are the back-bone of our

Lodge!!!!!

I am also reaching out all Legionnaires, who have a desire to show off

their culinary and bartending skills to consider cooking a meal or a day of

bartending, who knows who you might meet while performing a needed

function.

I would also like to mention that the LADIES will be hosting a trunk or

treat event on the Thursday the 31st, a great time is sure to be had by all,

Halloween dress is encouraged!!

That's all I have for now, have a great October.
