Fabric requirements:The pattern does not include seam allowance and the charts shows the total fabric requirement in cm if your fabric has atleast 150cm of width. You will also need fabric for the waist band (ribbing, if using c/l take the measurement and multiply with 1.07)

Before you start:Read all instructions before starting project.Seam allowance is NOT included, add that where two pieces are sewn together. Do not add allowance where you’re going to add binding. I usually have a seam allowance of 0.6 cm since I use a serger with a seam that is 0.5cm wide. If you wish to hem add seam allowance for that to the skirt.A stretchy knit fabric is suitable for the skirt.Pre-wash all fabrics before sewing to avoid color bleeding and shrinking.Measure the test square on the first page to make sure you printed correctly. It should measure exactly 3x3 cm (or 2x2”)Make sure you are using the most up to date version of Adobe Reader.

You will need:Sewing machineScissorsThreadBallpoint needle (in machine)Wonder clips or pinsFabric

It is possible to print only certain sizes using the “layers” function in acrobat. Select the “Layers” tab.Unselect the sizes you do not want to print, leave the last layer selected and the size you wish to sew.

Sew under skirt togertherSew the side seam on the under skirt together as well. Again leaving the other side open to easier sew on the lace.

Lace edgingPut the lace right sides togeter with the skirt edge. Sew the lace to the skirt edge. You do not need to pin at this stage unless you want to make sure you have enough lace before starting. Just make sure the lace and skirt edge aligns while sewing.

Lace from wrong and right sideHere you can see the lace all sewn on from both the right and wrong side of the skirt. Repeat the above steps for both skirts.

Top stitchTurn the lace down, making sure the seam is hidden on the wrong side of the skirt. Top stitch that seam down using a long straight stitch.

Waist bandFold the waist band right sides together and pin the short side.

Sew togetherSew the short side together, now the waist band is a loop.

Fold againNow you need to fold the band again, this time length wise. Fold it wrong sides together, this will hide the seam between the fabric.

Ready to be attached to the skirtsThis is what the band should look like if you folded it correctly.

Mark in quartersIt is easier to split the skirts and band in 4 equal parts and mark with a clip or pin. Then you can use those markings to evenly distribute the waist band to the skirts. Just match up the markings when pinning. Here I chose to keep the skirts right sides out to make sure I layered the skirts correctly. I then pin the waist band to the right side of the skirt.

Pin waistband to skirtsThe waist band is pinned and ready to be sewn.

Sy fastMake sure you capture all 4 layers when sewing. Stretch the waist band to fit the skirt while sewing. Make sure you don’t stretch the skirts fabric.

Done!Skirt is done and ready for use.
