World has many Museums on Gems and Jewellery
Smithsonian Museum, Washington
British Crown Jewellery, Tower of London
Hyderabad has one – Nizam's Jewellery
Gargoti Museum displays some rough stones
Jaipur is an important center of Gems and Jewellery
But we do not have a museum in Jaipur.
We should have one.

OBJECTIVES
Collection, preservation and display of gem stones, minerals and jewellery of all types
To impart education in the field of gemstones and jewellery
To conduct, organize, undertake and participate in national and international workshops, invite scholars, conduct symposiums, seminars, conferences
To make, develop, maintain and promote a “Gem Park - Rock Garden” to display large sculptures, rocks, etc.
Upliftment of workers especially young generation
Assist in achieving the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Protection of national heritage, art and culture

1. Promoters: There are 12 Promoter members.
2. Board of Directors: We plan to have additional directors. 3. Donors: 5-11 Cr or more donors will have a name on the main entry gate. They
will have One Permanent representative on Board. 2-3 Cr or more donor will have a name on a floor. 1 Cr Donor will be recognized with a photo in reception area.
4. Pioneer: 51 Lakh donors will have their name on a section of their choice (if available).
5. Benefactor: 25 Lakh donors will have their name on a section (anyone available).
6. Life Members: 5 Lakh donors with voting rights. Dues will be revised as and
when decided. 7. Well Wishers: Voluntary Contribution less than 5 Lakh without voting rights. 8. Supporters: Support by others means will be duly acknowledged. 9. Associate Members: Will have one representative from Chamber, Council,
Jewelers Association, Gem Testing Lab, Tourism Department, etc.
10. Government Representatives: One representative may join BOD with voting rights.
11. Advisory Board Members: Invite experiences and knowledgeable people for their guidance.
WORKING MODEL
Exhibit items will be donated by trade people & the community
Will have 10 minute audio-video presentation in the theater
Each section will have a small video running for 2 to 3 minutes
It will have interactive programing with computer set-up
Exhibits can be loaned also
Will invite for special exhibits from other centers
Display items will bear the name of the donor
Each exhibit will have a small write-up
It will be one of a type museum

PROPOSED SECTIONS IN MUSEUM
The setup of museum will be into 50-100+ sections. Each section will represent one topic as per list below:

CUT STONES SECTION
When a gemstone is desired to be used in jewelry, it is
cut depending on the size and shape of the rough
stone, as well as the desired piece of jewelry to be
made. As a rule of thumb, a cut gemstone will reduce
the mass (described in the carat) by about 50
percent.
Stone carving is an ancient activity where pieces of
rough natural stone are shaped by the controlled
removal of stone. Precious and semi-precious
gemstones are also carved into delicate shapes for
jewellery or larger items.
CARVING SECTION
AMETHYST SECTION AQUAMARINE SECTION
Aquamarine is a gemstone-quality transparent variety
of beryl, having a delicate blue or turquoise color,
suggestive of the tint of seawater. It is closely related
to the gem emerald.
Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz often used in
jewelry. The name comes from the Ancient Greek a-
("not") and methustos ("intoxicated"), a reference to
the belief that the stone protected its owner from
drunkenness."

VARIOUS NECKLACES
Beadwork is the art or craft of attaching beads to one
another by stringing them with a sewing needle or
beading needle and thread or thin wire, or sewing
them to cloth. Beads are used to create jewelry or
other articles of personal adornment; they are also
used in wall hangings and sculpture and many other
crafts.
RUBY SECTION
Ruby is named because of its color. The hardest
mineral after diamond, although only 1/40 as hard, it is
seven times as hard as topaz. It has no cleavage, but
has certain preferred directions of parting. Because of
brittleness, care must be taken when cutting and
setting.

This MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) is made
and entered at Jaipur on 16th day of November, 2015

Department of tourism, Government of Rajasthan (hereinafter

Party and M/s Museum of Gem and Jewellery Federation Jaipur.
PROPOSAL FOR
ACQUIRING THE LAND
Obtain land for use from Government for setting up museum.
We will be applying for a piece of land to Jaipur Development Authority (JDA)
Will request for “land for use”
It will have a comprehensive building program
Requires at least 2-3 acres of land
Will cater the present needs
Will cover the future growth
It will include Gem Park as well
Rental unit will be shifted later
