OptiSonde™
GE Chilled Mirror Hygrometer
Chilled mirror hygrometers are used in standards and metrology labs as well as in industrial applications where precise and repeat-able humidity measure-ment and control is re-quired. The inherent accu-racy and long term stabil-ity provide many advan-tages over other types of humidity measurement technologies. The OptiSonde chilled mir-ror hygrometer is a Na-tional Institute of Stan-dards and Technology (NIST) traceable humidity transfer standard at an exceptional value. The compact rugged analyzer is connected to either a single or two-stage chilled mirror sensor and PRTD. Chilled mirrors are the humidity sensors of choice when laboratory and proc-ess measurements require high precision without long-term drift. An LCD indicates two simultane-ous user-configured pa-rameters. OptiSonde pro-vides two user-configured analog (4 to 20mA) out-puts. The display and front panel keys enable quick and easy configuration. The OptiSonde easily re-cords humidity and tem-perature data from a wide variety of applications. The analyzer is equipped with a data logger capable of recording for a 100 days at a sample rate of 1 second and is equipped with an internal real-time clock. The saved data is uploaded to a PC using terminal software as ASCII delimited text, enabling it to be opened by Excel® and other spreadsheet
programs for data reduction, graphing and statistical analysis. Key Benefits
• Compact & rugged design for easy installation & durability
• Built in data-logger provides ability to record historical data
• Sensor conveniently plugs into wall mount chasis for facility monitoring, eliminating the need to run cable
• Sensors may be connected up to 91m away via cable for remote monitoring
• Displays & transmits in a variety of parameters, such as dew point, relative humidity, dry bulb, wet bulb, absolute humidity, volume ratio, & mass ratio, offering flexibility during operation
• Digital (RS-232) interface for data integrity
• Patented PACER® cycle automatically cleans mirror to ensure measurement integrity
• Panaview™ software transfers data from the meter to a PC for additional storage & enables data to be viewed graphically
• Easy to configure using the front panel for simple operation
• Humidity measurements are traceable to National Institute of Standards and Traceability (NIST)
Applications :
• Environmental test chambers
• Engine Test Cells
• Clean rooms
• Air conditioning & heat exchange coil testing
• Metrology labs

Environmental Monitoring
& Gas Detection Equipment Specialists!
The versatile and economic submersible (hermetically sealed) level probe is suit-able for a wide variety of ap-plications, from single tanks to multiple point installa-tions. Its robust design and corro-sion resistance allow it to be used in measuring levels in many industries including :
• The chemical and pet-rochemical industries handling hydrocar-
trol and is used by data providers as an eco-nomic sensor which can be connected to data-loggers and to wireless systems, allowing the remote collection of level data.
IAQ Probe air quality monitor
Designed to operate in environments requiring reliable monitoring the IAQ probe is industry’s most versatile portable air moni-toring tool. Simultaneously monitoring four parameters : carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, relative humidity and tem-perature. A real-time clock calculates and records STEL and TWA readings and stores more than 77 days of data.
Sensepoint RFD The Sensepoint RFD (Remote Flammable De-tector) is a flammable gas transmitter for use with catalytic gas sensors, certified for use in poten-tially explosive atmos-pheres to international standards with an integral gas concentration display. ATEX certified for Zone 1
Features include : Easy to read LCD display, Instantaneous readings, One button calibration, Windows based data man-agement software, Compact and lightweight, Monitors carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, relative humidity and temperature More than 77 days data storage, Peak reading memory, Real-time clock calculates and records STEL and TWA readings Audible, visual and vibrat-

45m away from the transmit-ter when used with an appro-priately certified terminal enclosure. This configuration is ideal for applications where the sen-sor is mounted in locations where temperatures are well above ambient (up to 150°C/302°F) and the transmitter would not be visi-ble to plant personnel at the point of detection. A 3 wire linear 4-20mA out-put allows interface to Hon-eywells or 3rd party control-lers. On board relays permit

Series 3000 XPIS provides comprehensive monitoring of toxic and oxy-gen gas hazards in poten-tially explosive atmospheres, both in and out of doors. This low powered gas detec-tor operates on an industry standard 2-wire 4-20mA loop, making it ideal for both new and retrofit applications. Easily configured without the need for a hot-work permit by using the LCD and magnetic switches, fault diagnostic software and programmable calibration due frequency simplifies maintenance pro-cedures. Intrinsically safe smart sen-sors are supplied pre-configured and can be “hot-swapped” without having to remove power to the detec-tor, saving both time and money during commissioning and routine servicing.

News Update Page 5
As you are probably all aware our APC Service team are regularly attending “training courses” to stay abreast with new instrument technology and to keep them refreshed on current requirements for the servicing and calibration of your field instruments . Craig has just returned from Johor Bahru in Malaysia after attending a RAE Systems train-ing school. Vic is attending Geotechnical Instruments training in the UK mid May. All brands of gas detectors (including our competitors) can be serviced and calibrated to the manufacture's specifications. Our mobile vans visit the South Island on a six monthly rotation (twice yearly) but regions such as Taranaki, the Bay of Plenty, Wellington and the Waikato see the vans bi-monthly. These visits ensure instruments meet compliancy regulations with calibra-tion and service and are operational at all times. Another upside of mobile calibration means "less down time" (while instruments are couriered back to Auckland, serviced, and then couriered back to site of origin after being serviced.) Calibration certificates are issued with each service and calibration for your records. For more information email : [email protected] .

The model SS4-A repre-sents pre-eminent UV/IR technology for Electro-Optical Flame Detectors, sensing radiant energy in the ultraviolet (UV), visible and Wide Band Infrared (IR) spectrum. Radiant en-ergy from all types of flam-ing fires will alert the detec-tor to their presence. The field of view is the wid-est in the industry with a 120 degree cone of vision, meaning an increased haz-ard area can be covered by each detector. Greater sen-sitivity also increases the volume covered by each detector, up to 4 times greater than other detec-tors. Using sophisticated micro-processor signal process-
• Adjustable detector sensitivity
• Microprocessor based algorithms : FirePic™ and Tri-Mode Plot™
• FirePic™ data can be used to postulate cause of the fire
• Wide temperature range of operation
• Compatible with standard approved fire alarm panels
• Time programmable alarm verification
• ATEX Certified
