We want to honor Fr. Jacques Martin, Fr. JosephLavorel, Fr. Jean Marie Tissot, Fr. Jean Thevernet, Bro. Pierre Cartonand Bro. Sulpice Fontanel by retelling their stories of missionary life toour present generation as recorded in history.

Fransalian Media World:As directed by the General Chapter 2019, the General Administrationhas decided to go ahead with the opening of De Sales InternationalFilm and Media Academy from June 2020 in Kodampakkam, Chennai.We also look into the possibility of the IT Training and DevelopmentCentre for designing and developing Management Software for variousministries.

Provincial Congress 2020:Fr. Emmanuel Mappilaparambil, the Provincial of Dibrugarh Provincehas convoked the 1st Ordinary Provincial Congress from 14th to 17th

April 2020 in MSFS Provincial House, Silapathar.

Fr. Sabu Francis, the Provincial of Guwahati Province has convokedthe 1st Ordinary Provincial Congress from 30th March to 3rd April 2020 atMSFS Provincialate, Guwahati. The theme of the Provincial Congressis “Kairos: An Acceptable time to redefine and relive our charism in ourMissionary context”.

Fr. Innaci Muthu, the Provincial of South East Province has convokedthe 5th Ordinary Provincial Congress from 9th to 12th March 2020 atRetreat Centre, Poondi. The theme of the Provincial Congress is “Beingrooted in the basics of the MSFS, we witness Christ through ourApostolates and Ministries”.

Let us pray for the success of their Provincial Congress. Let usaccompany them with our prayers during these days of discussionsand deliberations.

Province NewsInstallation of New Parish Priest at Pada –Lambata, Indonesia:

On 23rd January 2020 the MSFS confreres were welcomed in processionfro Lewoleba St. Mary Baneux to Pada. Around 4.30 p.m. the people ofPada received us along with his lordship Msgr. Fransiscus Kopong Kung,the Bishop of Larantuka, with military parade, traditional dance byMuslim, Hindu, Christian and Catholic brothers and sisters. At 5.30p.m. we had the opening prayer service at Pada mission and the bishophad an interaction with the people of Pada deciding the territory of theparish, economy of the parish, maintenance of parish and other issues.

On 24th January 2020 during the Eucharistic celebration St. Francis deSales Parish was eructed and Fr. Antony Baskar Jayaseelan wasinstalled as parish priest. During the mass His Lordship preached aboutthe bifurcation of the parish from Waikomo St. Arnoldus Yanssen. HisLordship preached about St. Francis de Sales and the missionary spiritof Fransalians, and especially about the Indian missionaries arrivingLarantuka and explained the charism of the congregation of Missionariesof St. Francis de Sales.

After homily His lordship declared the Pada mission as ST. Francis deSales parish and installed in a formal way by reading the canonicalprocedure and required documents and the oath ceremony by parishpriest that he will be obedient to Local Ordinary. He is entrusted withHoly Bible, Stole, Candle and Keys of the Church, which signifies theresponsibilities of the parish priest and congratulated for accepting tobe missionary in Indonesia. Fr. Anand Prasad spoke on our charism,gifts, and MSFS presence in different parts of the world.

There were traditional dances after the talks. All the people of Pada villagewithout any religious disparities Muslims, Hindus, protestants and catholicsjoined for traditional dance and celebrated this event as one family.

CONVOCATION CEREMONY

NCVT board of India made mandatory for all ITIs to have convocationceremony for the students who completed industrial training program.On 23rd December 2019 convocation ceremony was initiated in St.Aloysius ITI campus at Auto Nagar. Very. Rev. Fr. Provincial was thechief guest, presented certificates and addressed them to go forwardwith the skills for the successful future. It was indeed a day of rejoicingand happy moments for all the members of St. Aloysius ITI family.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

On 23rd December 2019, blood donation camp was conducted in St.Aloysius ITI campus with the help of Life sharing blood bank . 112students and 8 staff members donated the blood very generously andjoyfully. Few local TV channels and news reporters presented the newsto the public to encourage many more for freely donating the blood andsave life. On 23rd December Fr. Provincial presented certificates to theblood donors.

Regent’s meeting at Lourdu Nivas House, Shantinagar

“Piety and knowledge areeyes of religious” _SFS

The Regents of theprovince gathered for theregency meeting on 4th and5th January at Lourdunivas.It is a day to refresh and aday to renew our life as

Regents. The meeting was organized under the leadership of Fr. Manoj,the councilor in charge for the formation. On the first day we had gonefor an outing to wonderla. We spent the whole day at wonderla and we

enjoyed a lot over there. We returned to the house at 7.15 pm and hadholy mass which was celebrated by Fr. Sandeep Reddy. There after wehad dinner and went to rest. We began the second day with recollectionwhich was animated by Fr. Manoj. We had mass at 7.30 am along withthe parishioners. At 9.15 a.m we had the first recollection talk by Fr.Manoj. During the talk he enlightened us with the word of God andinitiated us into the mood of prayer and reflections. At 10.00 am we metFr. Manoj and had group discussion upon regency units. At 11.15 amwe had input session by Fr. Suresh Babu the general councilor in-chargefor formation. During the session he taught us to set goals, that is tobecome a good priest in our future in the congregation. He also urgedus to work upon such goal in every day of our life. Afterwards we hadlunch at 12.30 pm then we began personal talk with Fr provincial. At2.00 pm we had group sharing with Fr provincial. During the sharing Frprovincial appreciated us and thanked us for the service that we arerendering to the communities of our places. He also suggested us tocontinue with the same spirit for betterment of the community as wellas for the growth of personality. Then we winded up the regency meetingwith tea. Soon after tea some of us visited our near communities.

We are indeed very happy and glad that we received a book from RevFr. T. Mariadas Reddy. The title of book is, “Discipleship”. We thank Fr.T. Mariadas for such a gift.

We express our sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. Suresh Babu and Fr.Chinnappa Reddy and Fr. Manoj for their encouragement and valuablesupport and for giving us spiritual guidance for the rest of our regency.We also thank Fr. Sandeep Reddy, Fr. Bharat, Fr. John for theirhospitality, brotherly guidance during our stay at Lourdunivas.

Blessing and Inauguration, Sacred heart Church, NUNNA

Sacred heart Parish, Nunna(1958) which is situated on the outskirts ofVijayawada was bifurcated from Pezzonipeta and became an

independent parish in April1971. Rev. Fr. C. RimondiPIME, the parish priest ofPezzonipeta had acquiredeight acres of land on theway to Vijayawada-Nuzvidhighway. The presbyterywas built in 1973. Fr. JoseNedumackal built the

parish church in 1976. Fr. M. Masala PIME remodeled the presbytery.This mission was entrusted to the MSFS Fathers in 1979 during thetime of Rev. Dr. JOSEPH THUMMA (Bishop of Vijayawada). It wasbegun with 25 Catholic families but now it has grown into 150 families.It has got 7 sub stations. Fr. Joseph Karachira MSFS was the firstparish priest who belongs to MSFS congregation. Later Fr. JosephVichatt designed and built a beautiful entrance gate and erected thestatues of Our Lady and Jesus on the Cross in 1999.

Few years ago, Frs. Ratnasamy, Dola Velangani Rao MSFS madeefforts to extend the church, but in the course of time the church couldnot accommodate the ever growing faithful. Previous parish priestsmade efforts to build a new church. Rev. Fr. Nannam Ratnasamy MSFStook great interest, under the guidance of Very Rev. Fr. ChinnappaReddy, the Provincial Superior, Visakhapatnam Province laid thefoundation stone on 26th June 2017. Under the supervision of Fr.Madanu Vijaya Raju MSFS and Fr. Jangam Ravi Kumar MSFS thechurch was completed. The newly constructed SACRED HEARTChurch was blessed and consecrated by Most Rev. Dr. ThelagathotiJoseph Raja Rao SMM, the Bishop of Vijayawada in the presence ofRev. Fr. Chinnappa Reddy, the Provincial Superior of MSFS on(Tuesday) 21st January 2020. The blessing and consecration of thenew church was witnessed by a number of priests, religious, and avast number of faithful.

Silver Jubilee, SFS School, Agiripalli

It’s a historic moment of joy for the community at Agiripalli as our SFSSchool completes 25th year of her establishment celebrating her SilverJubilee. Our beloved Provincial, Very Rev .Fr. P. Chinnappa Reddyhad presided over the whole ceremony of the day. Most Rev. Dr. T.Joseph Raja Rao SMM, the Bishop of Vijayawada Diocese, had arrivedas the Chief Guest of the celebration and envigourated us with his

valuable message and presence. Our General Councilor and GeneralSecretary for Education, Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Karamkuzhyil, hadaddressed the gathering with the quintessence of the FransalianEducation as he had consented to be our Special Guest of Honour. Wehad Rev. Fr. B. Suresh Babu, the General Councilor and GeneralSecretary for Formation, Rev. Fr. Manoj Pathipallil Provincial Councilorof Formation, who had arrived as the Guests of Honour and addedcolour to the celebration. Along with the guests, the Jubilarians, theconfreres who served the institution formerly, and the donors were allfelicitated marking the event. A magnificent cultural programme wasorganized which really incurred a positive response from the parentsand the people of the locality. A beautiful souvenir also had beenreleased by the Bishop and the first copies were given to the guestson the stage. It was a gracious occasion to think of the former ProvincialsRev. Frs. Midathada Mariadas, Alexander Kottam and Mani Panthalanywho had been the cause of our establishment and development of theinstitution since 1995. The pioneering missionary, Rev. Fr. JosephNellimalamattam, who made the dream of our Congregation a possibility,was well remembered by everyone. The Principal had remarked in hisreport that our visionary Provincial, Very Rev .Fr. P. Chinnappa Reddy,made it a full pledged school within these three years raising it to anInternational standard providing all the amenities possible. All theprogramme had come to its close with a sumptuous fellowship meal.

On 22nd January 2020, SFS at Pamidi celebrated its 15th annual day.The theme of the celebration was “Time, Truth, Talentia”. His ExcellencyMost Rev. Dr. Poola Anthony, the Bishop of Kurnool graced the occasionas the chief guest. In his message, he encouraged the students tofollow the Fransalian Virtues and make the world a better place to livein. Very Rev. Fr. B. Suresh Babu, General Councilor in-charge ofFormation, presided over the function. Guest of honour were Very Rev.Fr. G. The Chief Guest and the other guests inspired the students and theirparents alike with motivational speeches. After that the cultural eventsadded extravagance to the event. Students delivered scintillatingperformances through dances, skits, comedy shows, songs, Mono actso on and so forth. The stage arrangements were one of the biggestattractions of the day as it was beautifully decked and illuminated.Several sports, literary, artistic and academic competitions wereconducted among students as part of the celebrations. The winners ofthese events were awarded with certificates, medals and trophies onthe day. The guests of the day were highly impressed and assured theschool of their continuous support.

Parents played an active role in rendering their support to the schooland participated actively throughout the programme. The event wasnot just another annual day but a joy of sharing and exhibiting the hiddenpotentials of the students. It will indeed remain a red letter day in theannals of school history as many guests, parents and well-wisherscomplimented us by saying “We have never seen such an event so farin any school In the city of Khammam”. This however, does not let usrest upon our achievements but spurs us to march towards achievinggreater excellence in the days to come.
