From The Pastor Greetings Brothers & Sisters in Christ!
I am so happy the month of January is over and we are moving into
February. I have always viewed the month of February as a transitional
month. We are moving away from the cold of winter and are moving
forward into spring! The days also seem to start getting longer which I
love as well. I also love the month of February because it usually starts
the beginning of my favorite liturgical time in the Christian year. Lent!
As you may know the Lenten season starts on Ash Wednesday, which will
be on February 18th and we will start of this season with a service at 7:00
pm, and the Lenten Season will then conclude on Easter Sunday.
The Ash Wednesday service will provide for us the opportunity to confront
our own mortality and confess our sins before God and within the
community of faith. During the Lenten season we should be in an attitude
of self-examination, searching within our own hearts the true meaning of
the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and what impact that has
on your life.
I would love to challenge you during this season to ask yourself how you
can grow deeper in your walk with Jesus. Some ways you can do this is
through prayer, fasting fellowship and repentance.
At this present time I am looking at various different studies to share
during our Wednesday Night church time. These studies focus on Jesus’
death on the cross and how his death changed the world. I would like to
encourage you to join us on Wednesday nights during the season of Lent
and join together in our conversations about his death on the cross.
My sermon series during the season of Lent will be on the seven last
sayings from the cross. Or as my sermon series will be titled, “Seven Cries
From the Cross.” I believe that Jesus made some very important
statements at the end of his life while on the cross that are very vital for
all of us to hear and respond to.
So, I would love to encourage you, as we enter into the Lenten season,
that you take time to pray, search out areas to get involved in studies and
use this wonderful time of the year to grow deeper in your relationship
with Jesus.
God Bless,
Scott

SAFE SANCTUARY TRAINING
At the 2014 Annual Conference, the West Ohio Conference voted that all churches in the conference must have a Safe Sanctuary Policy. Trinity
already has a policy in place, but there are some components of the policy that need updated and some procedures we must follow as a church to
keep our children and youth safe. One of the policies is that if an individual has any contact with children they must go through a training program, and
also depending on the situation they may also need a background check. We hope that you‘re understanding of these policies and procedures are
important for the whole church body, but most importantly for the protection of our children. Training dates will be posted at a later date and we appreciate your willingness to help in every manner to make this policy
an important part of our daily life here at Trinity.
Hospitality Committee Needs Your Help
This Committee is always looking for volunteers to help in various ways. One of the most important ministries this
committee does is funeral dinners along with other special events or activities. There are several ways you can help! You can
donate food, work during a funeral dinner, donate money or even help by becoming the Chairman or Co-Chairman of this
committee. If you would love to help and become a part of this committee, please contact Carol Williams or the church office.
SoJourner’s Sunday School Class

Alice Schlenker– Mother of Ed Schlenker
Debra Burnham- Sister of Cindy Gardner
The Sojourner’s Sunday School class is
making a donation of $100 to the Cooperative
Ministry Food Pantry and $75 to Daniel
Perry’s senior project.
All In The Family
Trinity has been selected as one of eight churches
in our district to participate in this conference
ministry opportunity that takes a look at our
family ministries starting in January. All in the
Family was developed to equip churches in
leading dynamic children, youth and family
ministries and focuses on developing leadership
skills, teaching best ministry practices, and
implementing policies and procedures. If you have
a heart for the families along with the children and
youth of our church and would like to become a
part of this ministry, please contact Pastor Scott or
Josh. You will be hearing more about this ministry
throughout the year.
Renewal Team News
The Renewal Team would like to thank all of you who filled out the surveys. We have
looked at all of the information and have prayed over the prayer requests that were given as well. This team meets monthly and is
sharing ideas on how we can live out our mission statement, "Connecting to God with
others in the Ministry for the Lost." It is our hope that in the upcoming year we will begin to share some thoughts and ideas that have
been discussed with the team members.
***ASH WEDNESDAY***
Ash Wednesday Service will be held
February 18th at 7:00 P.M.
NEW MEMBERSHIP CLASS
If you are not a member of the church and have been attending Trinity and would like to become a member, please contact
Pastor Scott or the church office. A new membership class is being formed and the dates will be published later.
Lenten Wednesday Night Studies
I would love to encourage you to join us on
Wednesday Night during the season of Lent for
a Study titled “Journey to the Cross.” This
Study is by Adam Hamilton and will take us
from the time Jesus shared a meal with his
disciples up to the point of his crucifixion.
There is a book that you can use for this study
that includes daily meditations. I hope to see
you there during this time as we journey
together to the cross.
