Boulder JunctionWe at the Wildcat Lodge are enjoying our winter. Snow has been falling and it's such a beautiful time of year in the Northwoods. Life is good as you look out on Big and Little Kitten Lakes

Walleyes, perch, crappies and bluegill will caught by our guests at the Wildcat Lodge. We have 194 lakes within 10 miles of Boulder Junction but yet musky anglers have been on Big and Little Kitten Lakes as well as Wildcat Lake, our very own Class A Muskie waters. Although this summer has been one of our best fishing seasons ever in the Northwoods and it's not over yet.

We always enjoyed having you stay with us and we're hopeful that you're ready to book your next vacation here in 2014. Vacation Rates at Wildcat Lodge

Our cabins are available year round even though the main lodge is closed during the winter. In Boulder Junction, only a few miles down the road, you can enjoy dining for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Our housekeeping cabins all have the necessary items if you like to cook your own meals. From 15 June to 24 August 2014, the following weekly rates are in effect:- 2 Bedroom Cabin - $1375.00- 3 Bedroom Cabin - $1475.00- Executive Homes - $1925.00After 24 August our winter rates will be $160.00 per night (3 night minimum) for 2 persons. Each extra person is $15.00 per night.

6th Annual NLEF Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe & Skate February 7 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmNorth Lakeland School, 12686 County Road K,Manitowish Waters,54545 The North Lakeland Education Foundation presents the 6th Annual Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe & Skate will be Friday, February 7, 2014, from 5 pm. to 8 pm., headquartered at the NL Ice Hockey Hut behind North Lakeland School and utilizing the ice rink and school forest trails. A suggested donation to participate is $5 per person. Concessions will be available, featuring hot soups, beverages and snacks.

6th Annual Frozen Tozen Winter Fest February 22, 2014A day of ice fishing, ice golf, turkey bowling, snowshoe races and other winter games. Proceeds benefit the Boulder Junction Boat Landing Improvement Fund. Awards ceremony and raffle drawing.The 6th Annual Boulder Junction Frozen Tozen Winter Fest sponsored by Stormy Kromer and the Boulder Junction Chamber, will be held on Saturday, February 22nd. Bring family and friends to Boulder Junction for the Frozen Tozen featuring an ice fishing tournament on Boulder Lake as well as a 1-mile snowshoe race, turkey bowling, shuffle board, warm food and drink, sledding, bonfire and ice-skating at Boulder Junction's Winter Park. Best of all, these fun activities support community projects. All ice fishing tournament proceeds support the Boulder Junction Boat Landing Improvement Fund and Winter Park activities will benefit, in part, the Community Food Pantry.Tournament registration begins at 10:00am at the Boulder Lake landing, with walk-in registrations welcome throughout the day. The tournament runs from 11am-5pm. At only $20 for adults and $10 for kids 14 and under, the tournament is fun and affordable for everyone. Your individual registration also includes registration in the team tournament. Teams can include 2 – 6 individuals, so bring your friends. Awards will be presented to top anglers in the adult and junior divisions, an overall team award and even an award for the smallest catch.

New this year is the Stormy Kromer Frozen Tozen Run, a 1-mile snowshoe race around the Winter Park loop. Cost is $20.00 per person or $18.00 with a donation to the Community Food Pantry. Registration includes a t-shirt, bowl of chili and complimentary warm beverages. 1st and 2nd place winners in junior (ages 15 & under), adult (ages 16 to 45) and adult (ages 46 & over) divisions will be awarded. Pre-registration is encouraged, however, walk in registration will take place from 11am to 11:45am. Snowshoes are not provided but can be rented at Coontail Sports in Boulder Junction. The race begins at 12noon, with awards being presented that evening at Gooch’s.

Family activities at the Winter Park take place any time between 11am-2pm. Enjoy our wintry take on classic sports. 5 frames of turkey bowling will be featured. A non-perishable donation to the Community Food Pantry is your fee to participate. Prizes will be awarded at Gooch’s to both adult and junior bowlers Open ice-skating, shuffleboard, a couple holes of disc golf and sledding will take place all day. Chili, hot dogs and hot beverages will be served. Wear your Stormy Kromer hat and receive a free bowl of chili!At 5:30pm, join us at Gooch’s A-1 on Hwy M, 3 miles north of downtown Boulder Junction, for the awards ceremony. In addition to the Stormy Kromer Frozen Tozen Award for the largest catch in both the adult and junior division, each division will also award prizes for the largest fish caught in each of the following categories: Walleye, Small Mouth or Large Mouth Bass, Pan Fish (Bluegill, Perch and Crappie), and Northern Pike. The team catching the most total inches will receive the Team Award.

After the divisional prizes, stick around for the raffle drawing! Tickets for the raffle are available now at the Boulder Junction Chamber, Boulder Beer Bar, Gooch’s A-1 Bar & Grill, The Granary Family Restaurant, Headwaters Restaurant & Tavern and Northern Highland Sports. Grand prize is a 16GB Kindle Fire HD. Many other prizes will also be raffled off. Tickets are just $1.00 each or six for $5.00. As with the tournament proceeds, the raffle will also benefit the Boulder Junction Boat Landing Improvement Fund. There’s something for everyone at the 6th Annual Boulder Junction Frozen Tozen Winter Fest! We look forward to seeing you on February 22nd in Boulder Junction!
