CCW: ST. MARY AND ST. HENRY LADIES
St. Mary CCW will be meeting with the St. Henry
CCW on Wednesday, Feb. 5. We will begin with
the rosary at 11:45 am in St. Henry Church,
followed by a potluck at 12:00 pm in the dining
room. The program will be given by March Runner, director of
the House of Compassion. Weather guideline: if school is
closed due to winter weather this meeting will be cancelled.

CCW DUES: IMPORTANT UPDATE
Attention all ladies! Both CCW committees rely
on your membership dues ($10), however, the
envelope company only printed one envelope
with St. Mary church named. Please use this envelope and
write which parish/CCW group you would like it to go to. You
many also use a plain envelope marked with your name and
CCW Dues. Please turn them in during the collection at Mass,
at the parish office or our next CCW meeting on Wed., Feb. 5
at 11:45 am.
TUESDAY STUDY OF SUNDAY SCRIPTURE RETURNS
SOSS meetings will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at
8:00 am at St Henry’s multi-purpose room. We will
meet every Tuesday thereafter. Everyone is welcome
for fellowship and discussion of the next Sunday’s scripture.

The Sister Parish Committee is collecting Spanish children’s

musical instruments to take with us when we go in February to

The Emergency Food Box needs our help in

WORLD MARRIAGE DAY
Come celebrate love, faith and the
commitment to the sacrament to
holy matrimony. World marriage
day honors husband and wife as the foundation of the family
and salutes the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy
in daily married life. This special Mass will be held at 2:00pm
February 9th at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville.

FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITY FOR LAY FORMATION AND
IMPACT ALUMNI

FEB. 2 - WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR
CONSECRATED LIFE
In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II
instituted a day of prayer for women
and men in consecrated life. This
celebration is attached to the Feast of
the Presentation of the Lord on February
2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on
which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light
of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to
reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration
of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the
following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of
consecrated persons for the whole Church.
If you have been fortunate enough to have known religious
Sisters or Brothers, in education or catechesis or health care,
give thanks to God. Pray for those people who have
dedicated their lives to serving the people of God. And let
us continue to pray that the Lord Will open the hearts of
young people who are being called to serve God’s Church.

2 DE FEBRERO - DÍA MUNDIAL DE ORACIÓN POR LA VIDA
CONSAGRADA
En 1997, el Papa San Juan Pablo II instituyó un día de
oración por mujeres y hombres en la vida consagrada.
Esta celebración se adjunta a la fiesta de la Presentación
del Señor el 2 de febrero. Esta fiesta también se conoce
como el Día de la Candelaria - el día en que se bendicen
las velas que simbolizan a Cristo, que es la luz del mundo.
También los que están en la vida consagrada están
llamados a reflejar la luz de Jesucristo a todos los pueblos.
La celebración del Día Mundial de la Vida Consagrada se
traslada al domingo siguiente para poner de relieve el don
de las personas consagradas para toda la Iglesia.
Si Ud. ha tenido la dicha de haber conocido a hermanas o
hermanos religiosos, en educación o en catequesis o la
salud, dé gracias a Dios. Rece por
esas personas que han dedicado su
vida al servicio al Pueblo de Dios. Y
sigamos pidiendo al Señor que abra
los corazones a los jóvenes llamado
a servir a su Iglesia.
