NEEDED

To the Members of Cadiz Baptist Church; The purpose of this email is to share with you all a very real concern facing our church. As many of you know, the Wednesday night attendance of our children and youth has greatly increased as of late. We rejoice in this and praise God for His goodness. However, this increase exposes an area of weakness in our church. The vast majority of our Wednesday night kids are here because we go and get them. We provide them with safe travel to and from our facilities. While they are with us they are being loved and hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Wednesday evenings are a tremendous service to the young people of our community. For this reason the Bus Ministry is vital to the ongoing success of our Wednesday night programs. If we do not have a Bus Ministry, we do not have a Children’s/Youth Ministry. For far too long a very small number of our members have shouldered this load themselves. Working tirelessly and thanklessly every single Wednesday evening. Due to unforeseen circumstances our Bus Ministry and as a result our Children/Youth Ministry are in real trouble. I am writing this letter to you as an appeal. WE NEED YOUR HELP. Would you be willing to share in the joy of bringing young people to our church facilities? Would you be willing to acquire a CDL making you eligible to drive our 25-passenger bus at little or no cost to you? I know we are all busy. I know there is no shortage of excuses we can find, but there is a question I want you to ponder. What is the result of doing nothing? What if this ministry dies? The result will be dozens of children and teens unable to attend CBC on Wednesday evenings. Some not having a good meal to eat that evening. Some with nothing else to do but wander our streets and fall into trouble. Most importantly, the removal of the Gospel message from their lives. As a church we cannot sit idly by and do nothing. As your pastor I am asking you to please step up. To do ministry right here in the community God has planted us. This is what you can do for the Kingdom. What’s your excuse not to?
