WHAT ARE CUSTOM VARIABLES?You can pass in additional information into your survey by using custom variables.
Custom variables are special variables that are used to store additional information that will be passed to the survey. Once passed to the survey, they are stored with the Respondents Response.
Custom variables are available in the Excel and CSV Raw Data downloads.

QUICK CUSTOM MAPPINGWe’ve made it easier to update and map custom variables to names/values to be used for piping, logic, raw data, and data segmentation!
• Enter one variable mapping per line.• Each custom variable can be mapped to only one value.• Display Name should be unique.• Code must be unique and should not contain any special characters including 'space'. It is an optional
field.• First column is custom variable number. For example '3' for 'custom3'.

QUICK CUSTOM MAPPINGAfter clicking on “Quick Add”, enter the information for your variable mapping text following the format below.
Format:Custom variable number, Display name, CodeExample:1, Country, CN2, Department, dpt
Once you are done, click the “Save” button. Now it will be a part of the data that you are going to download. When you go to download the raw data, you can include these new custom variable codes.
