HAIX® - Schuhe Produktions- Vertriebs GmbH from Mainburg, Germany had decades of long and fruitful business cooperation with Croatian shoemaking company JELEN from Čakovec. German company got to know the skills and competences of Međimurje shoemaking labour force as well as the business environment in Međimurje. In 2004 HAIX® - Schuhe Produktions- Vertriebs GmbH decided to base production in Međimurje. The production started in 2005 in rented facilities. In 2009 completely new production facility of ≈6.000 m2 was built and equipped having now more than 500 Haix Obuda employees producing shoes of highest quality for customers all over the world. Company plans further investments on the same location!

A part of the today's production and the production assortment of the LPT company had existed before the foundation of the company itself as a part of companies Heplast d.o.o. and Hespo d.o.o. Legget&Platt from Missouri (USA) got interested in these companies since they had very valuable patents registered and bought parts of their production. After establishing LPT d.o.o. and with the new owner, the complete production assortment has been significantly enlarged by new products, many new markets have been opened, a large deal of resources invested in new machines and equipment. What is more, the number of employees is constantly growing. From the very beginning of its business operation the company is managed by a team of young, exclusively domestic professionals. In 2008 completely new production facility of ≈15.000 m2 was built and equipped. Company will implement further investments at the same location in the period 2011-2013.

Story:
Hespo was founded in 1979 as a plastic processing craft. Shortly after, the craft grew into a manufacturing facility for development and manufacture of machinery and spare parts. The production of spring units for mattresses was developed in 1989 and two years later Hespo began producing of mattresses. Hespo was also well known for its patented innovations in the field of manufacturing spring wire core. Those patents attracted Legget&Platt from Missouri (USA) what led to selling the manufacture of machinery and spring core business to this US company in 2001. Hespo was now focused on
production of mattresses and furniture as its core business. In 2001 new production and warehouse facility of 8.300 m2 was built and two years later new 4.500 m2 of production space was put in use. In 2005 Hespo was sold to the Swedish corporation Hilding Anders continuing its business activity under the same brand and led by local management.
