F. C.’s Jig adapted for violin and viola is from the album “Appalachia Waltz” which featuresMark O’Connor and Yo-Yo Ma playing the jig. O’Connor utilized the third movement of his

“Fiddle Concerto” and arranged from it a violin and cello duet. Here, he has adapted theinstrumentation for violin and viola. The result is thrilling - a virtuoso duet full of melody,interplay and energy, pushing both instruments all the way to it’s conclusion. “F. C.’s Jig” is aspirited, well known derivation of the “Fiddle Concerto’s” jig. The music is suited foradvanced and intermediate levels.
