To whom it may concern:

Rob Ransome is busy completing a 3-month internship with Foote, Cone and Belding Africa (Cape Town office). He joined the Strategy Department in the beginning of February and will complete his internship end April.

In his short time with us Rob was exposed to the following fields of brand strategy and showed keen participation in all instances:

- Competitor research that involved strategic analysis to direct the following brands:

a) Engen Petroleum, South Africa’s most popular fuel and retail convenience brand years running.

b) Corner Bakery (Engen’s in-house bakery).

- Market research that involved category insights, Generation Y behavior and a comprehensive communication analysis for Distell (International Wine & Spirit Competition's (IWSC) Distiller of the Year 2015): Ready-To-Drink Beverages Africa Report. Rob was involved with the report integration (9 countries) and more importantly primary research on Ghana, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. Rob also presented to the Distell Africa Board and Cider Category Board respectively. He did a fantastic job at presenting to one of FCB’s biggest clients and has shown keen strategic skill in his insights analysis.

Rob was not shy to respectfully express his opinion when asked. He impressed me with his knowledge when he joined strategic discussions and made well-thought through, meaningful contributions to the strategic process. He has been a constructive team player throughout.

It was a pleasure to have him on the team. He is a bright young man and is hungry to make a success of his career in brand communication and strategic planning. And he is a really cool guy too.

If you want to contact me directly, please feel free to do so, on 082 885 8014.

Yours sincerely,

Marthinus van Loggerenberg
