Nate was unsure about his next career move. He was unde- cided if he would spend his life as a preacher or as a policeman. Ned mentioned to Nellie, Nate decided on preaching, so he attended the local Bible College. Nate, after completing the first semester began to have second thoughts about his decision to preach. He thought he owed it to himself to enroll in the Police Academy and he did. Ned said, Old Nate was really doing well and feeling good about his decision to consider becoming one of his hometown's finest. The time came for him to take the final test. Nates superi- or said to him, Nate, when you become a policeman, what will you do when the time comes to disperse a crowd?Ned said to Nellie, It was that final question that tripped up Uncle Nate. Nate thought to himself, 'What should I do when the time comes to disperse a crowd?' Apparently, Nates preacher training and his police training began to intermingle. Nate said to the police chief, This is how I would disperse a crowd. YOUTH NEWS REMEMBER ME IN PRAYER (CARE Line - 359-9589 after 3:00 p.m.)

Pat Cook began radiation treatments last week. She will undergo treatments 5 day a week until June 6.

Virginia Corbin is home after a stay in Marshall Medical Center. She is recovering from pneumonia.

Eric Hillard is home and recovering from surgery on his foot. Annie Mae Bradford (grandmother of Jimmy Bass) is in ICU at St.

Thomas West. Harry Brown (brother-in-law of Daniel Duvall) is undergoing tests. Adelaide Davenport (daughter of Ashley Davenport, and granddaugh-

ter of Vickie Leonard) will undergo surgery Thursday (5/4) to remove a kidney stone.

Micah Hart (son of Jason & Jennifer Hart) continues to take chemo treatments for leukemia.

Please keep Amy & Khyle Jones (Amy is the great niece of Gayle Vore) in your prayers. Amy delivered their daughter Riley 10 weeks early. Riley is continuing to improve and her weight has increased to 4lbs. Cards may Amy & Khyle at 1801 Hatchet Hollow Rd., Corners-ville, TN 37047.

Melvin Thompson (father of Barry Thompson, grandfather of Benton Thompson, and Jessica Newton) is in Maury Regional. He is recover-ing from a heart attack, pneumonia and congestive heart failure.

Otis Young (uncle of Joyce Blalock) is in CCU at Maury Regional. He has suffered an aneurysm.

Randy Young (cousin of Joyce Blalock and friend of Tony Williams) is at home and battling brain cancer. He has also suffered a stroke.

Our college graduates are Cody Duvall, Whitley Martin and Carrie Matthews. A reception, in your honor, will be held in the Ser-vice Complex after evening services. BBQ sandwiches will be provided, please sign up

for other food items at the Youth Board.

Southeast Leadership Camp

will be June 4th-11th for ages 12-18 @ Karns Church of Christ in Knoxville, TN. This camp is completely FREE for camp-ers and they will stay with members of

Karns. The deadline to sign up is May 24th. You can do so by applying online @ www.southeast.institute/leadershipcamp

and then sending a paper copy to the mailing address on the Youth Board. For more info on the camp and its purpose,

there is a flyer on the Youth Board.

Illinois Day Camp
