Half Day of Prayer Saturday, April 18, 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Decatur Campus
This is a great time to come away from your busy schedule to spend uninterrupted time in prayer, Bible reading and study. We meet in the auditorium for instruction and then find a secluded place in the building or outside if weather permits. We come back together at 11:00 am to share. So, bring your Bible, notebook, pen - even a hymnbook and enjoy time alone with God.
It’s also time to personally seek, by the grace of God, the wisdom to set priorities in our lives, the courage to implement and carry through on God’s agenda, listen for the voice of Jesus and worship him in a way that pushes ungrateful grumbling out of our conversations.
Easter Sunday, April 5th You are invited to worship with us on Easter Sunday at one of our services.

There is a buzz in the air at First Bible Church. I’ve long known the difficulty of interpreting buzzes, and sometimes they can mislead, but we are in a good season of church life. Many of you told me that the Missions Conference in March was our best yet. Of course, we say that every year, but there was something unusual about this one. Perhaps it was the ministry of Fikret Bocek and hearing about the growth of the church in Turkey. Muslims have come to Christ. Muslims are coming to Christ. Muslims will come to Christ. Hearing these reports strengthen our faith and encourage our hearts.
On top of that, 51 members of our missionary family were able to be with us for the conference. They came from various parts of the United States, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, Moldova, Russia, and Brazil. We heard a lot of different languages those few days and yet all of us worshipped Jesus. It was an appetizer for heaven!
To top it all off, we had a record attendance at the conference. Overflow crowds could not find places to sit. Cottage meetings were full and lively. Missionaries were cared for and en-couraged and treated like heroes.
And now we head in to Holy Week, recalling the reason for it all. The reason we do missions conferences is that we send our missionaries. We send missionaries because Jesus commands us to send them. He commands us to send them because he was raised from the dead. He was raised from the dead to prove he died on the cross in the place of sinners. He died in the place of sinners because of love. Because he loves us, we love him. Because we love him, we do mis-sions conferences.
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
“the Missions Conference in March was our best yet.”

FBC will host the Empowered To Connect (ETC) live simulcast. The cost is $10 per family. This conference, for pre or post-adoptive or foster families and professionals, is designed to help better understand how to connect with children from hard places in order to help them heal and become all God intended for them to be.
ETC is beneficial for adoptive parents, foster parents, potential adoptive/foster parents, and profession-als (counselors, therapists, teachers, social workers, minis-try leaders, youth nursery leaders and ANYONE working directly with children). To register contact Christy Jacobs, [email protected] or 256-318-5918.
CASA is currently having a shoe drive in the month of April, collecting gently used shoes of all sizes and styles. For more information about CASA and drop off locations for shoes, visit their website at: http://casaofnorthalabama.org/.
