Merry Sinacore Hi! Everyone is heading here for the winter. We are having our beautiful weather, so all enjoy. As you come back to Plantation Village you will see some things have been added - such as a canopy over the pickleball courts, freshly painted walkways, and of course, our new and improved office. We have new PV signs at the front gates and some new landscaping. November 9th was a seminar for all PV Co-op residents. It was sponsored by FLAROC, FLORIDA RESIDENT OWNED CO-OP. It is a great organization that always gives us good information on Co-op issues. This seminar will be on Gov-erning Documents and Changes. So it will be helpful. It also presents us the opportunity to show off our beautiful community. So, if you happen to meet someone from an-other community show them what makes us great. As always Plantation Village is very unique, and it is be-cause of its people. They are the best of this community and what makes us a premier community. All the good things can be accomplished together. Again, we are fortunate to work in this great environment.

Well, we have finally arrived. It was great to see old neighbors and the overall additions to our village while we were away. Our first tour of the village was an exciting experience, seeing the new sports areas and the addition-al roofing over the shuffleboard courts. The directional signage, as well as the signage and art work on the new bathroom building at the sports areas, is a really nice added touch, thanks to Chris Bell and his talent. I hear the Halloween Party was a great success and thank you to all who did the planning, hosting and participating. Anyone who has not seen the office area should go and have a look at the improvements. It looks nice and much more functional. Also, check out the boat races on the pond on Saturday. So get out and participate in any of the activities offered in our village and enjoy!

Attention all Plantation Village Residents:

Welcome back, Snowbirds, and welcome to all new PV residents. It is exciting to see so much activity in the Plantation Village Library. It is our pleasure to be able to continue offering a large selection of books, puzzles, etc. for everyone’s enjoyment. We, the PV Librarians, do ask, however, that when do-nating items or returning books, puzzles, games or DVD’s to the Library that you simply deposit all items into the return basket or on one of the glass shelves on the left as you enter the room. This will ensure that all books, etc. will get placed back into their proper order and designated place on the Library shelves and cabinets. Thank you - the Plantation Village Librarians

Thank You Everyone knows of the devastation of Hurricane Michael. We had the misfortune of having relatives and friends who lost everything. Some were sleeping in cars and some slept in tents. When Highway 10 reopened, we let Plantation Village residents know that we would be going up to the Panhan-dle. The need was for basic necessities. The response was overwhelming. A car and a truck were filled to overflowing and the contents were distributed to the most needy. Little children are still sleeping in tents and cars but they are doing it on box springs, blankets, and pillows from PV residents. We want to thank you for your generosity and compas-sion.

PV Shuffleboard

Shuffle Board has become a very popular sport here at Plantation Village. We are hosting tournaments this coming year. We will be able to show off our community and our courts. We have added a men’s team to the schedule. Stop by when they are playing to watch and give your support.

Pickleball weather is here. These are some of the residents that showed up to learn how to play. They are having a great time and getting exercise that is healthy. We have residents that know how to play that are willing to show you how to play. So please come out to the gaming area and use the Pickle Ball & Bocce Ball courts along with the horseshoes and BBQ area.

Meet Your NeighborsROBERT & JILL SCHEIN and DORIS DECOVENY

While Robert and Jill are among the very newest residents of Plantation Village they have both been Floridians for well over 30 years. Robert was born in New York City in Manhattan and Jill right nearby in Brooklyn. Robert got his associates degree from

Keiser University in computer networking and security. Jill attended Middlesex County College but left without a degree to enter the employment arena. Jill was getting her hair cut one day and the man cutting her hair asked if she had a boyfriend. She said “No” and the man told her he had a friend he wanted her to meet. After an exchange of phone calls they met for their first date. When Jill returned home after their second date she told her mother to start making a list for wedding invita-tions because she knew Robert was the love of her life! Six months later in 1990 they were married. Their marriage was blessed with the births of two sons one who currently resides in Bradenton and the other in Lakeland. While most of those residing in PV have embraced full-time retirement, Robert and Jill are both still currently full time employees. Robert has worked in the automobile industry for 41 years, the last 16 for Lexus and prior to that running his own business. Jill is office administrator in real estate management employed by NDC for the past 6 1/2 years. When relaxing away from work Robert enjoys fishing, computers, photography and hi fidelity. Jill enjoys cooking and is very active on E-Bay pursuing bargains in Internet shopping. Jill’s mother, Doris, will be living with them and Jill says her Mom is very shy but will be eager to help out in the PV library and is looking forward to making new friends and participating in some of the activities available in our piece of paradise. When I asked Robert and Jill about any life changing experienc-es Jill just winked and said “Finding our new home in Plan-tation Village”. From meeting the Scheins it was obvious to me that they are going to be very active in our community and we will be very lucky to have them. Welcome, Robert Jill and Doris.
