RE: ALI/ETL 2011 STANDARD
Ladies and Gentlemen :
Enclosed is a sample ofthe ALVETL certification page of last week and again this week using examples of Mohawk, Bendpak & Stertil-Koni 4 post lifts. Pages 1-2 show the lifts (and options as listed) are certified to the ANSI ALI/ETL 2006 standard . Pages 3-5 show certification to the new 2011 standard which became effective on 6/20/ 13. Please note that some companies don't have ALVETL certified rollingjacks to the 2011 standard (as the standard changed & requires locks on the jacks). No locks= no roll ing jack certification and everyone knows use of a non- certified option on a celtified lift voids the certification of the lift (per www.autolift.org in the PURCHASfNG A LIFT section subtitled FAQ).
www.autolift.org shows two post lifts that don't offer celtified truck adaptors, and mobile lifts that don't have certified pendant controls, chassis lifting beams, or high reach jack stands. The autolift.org website is a sales tool that some successful lift distributors use, while others might not.
Please see the below sequence from FAQ from autolift.org, labeled #1 , #2, & #3. Iffinding yourself in a competitive situation, you might show your prospect that given that brand _ doesn ' t have certified accessories or certified truck adaptors, then you might want to let your prospect know the lift they're also considering does not MEET THE ONE AND ONLY NA TIONALLY RECOGNfZED SAFETY CODE REQUIREMENTS for garage lifts.

3. The ALI Lifi Certification Program requires each Participant to submit all accessories for evaluation. Approved accessories are required to be listedfor use by model number on ALI's Directory ofCertified Products. Accessories not found on the Directory are not approvedfor use.
