FASTENED, FOR LIFE.
www.eva-last.com
A HISTORY OF HULK FASTENERS™ Eva-Last® has spent years designing, engineering, and patenting high performing composite decking and cladding
that is backed by industry-leading warranties - some which offer coverage for up to 30 years. However, conventional
fasteners simply have not been able to match the long-term performance of Eva-Last® composite material which, in
turn, can compromise the integrity of the entire deck or cladding installation.
Through a research and design process specifically aimed at creating a range of fasteners worthy of the Eva-Last®
brand, HULK Fasteners™ were conceptualised, stress-tested and patented to be the most high-performing fasteners
anywhere in the world.
PRODUCT PRINCIPLES
Value added productsHULK fasteners™ materials, exterior coatings, designs, packaging options and complementary accessories are chosen to provide the best value for money.
Practical usabilityHULK fasteners™ are designed to be easy to use for the client and highly practical for the distributor. Each aspect of the product, packaging and retail offer is created with straightforward usability in mind.
Functional aestheticsVarious models of HULK fasteners™ are created intentionally in styles and colours for specific purposes, and designed to be as undetectable in the final project as possible.
DurabilityHULK fasteners™ were created to keep pace with the durability of Eva-Last® composite materials (and their extensive warranties). The fasteners complement composite in look and reliability, and are available for multiple applications.
Purposeful designEvery HULK fasteners™ product is designed to fulfill a specific purpose, minimising wasted parts and time. They make installa-tion more efficient and straightforward.

HALO CLIP
Eva-Last® created the Halo clip in 2010, designed to match the life expectancy and durability of Eva-Last® composite
decking materials. This product laid the foundation for the hidden fastener: no more protruding screws, no more ruined
finishes, no more untidy aesthetics.
Two years later, Eva-Last® perfected the HULK fastenersTM range, optimising form and function for a reliable, long-lasting
fastening solution which could complete the decking package. HULK fastenersTM are built to withstand the toughest of
weather conditions.
HULK fastenersTM were released to markets across the African continent in 2013, including the Z-point and Torpedo clip
screws designed for use with timber and steel frames. These specially engineered top-fixing screws are created with
aesthetics in mind, and perfectly match the colours of Eva-Last® composite decking.
That same year, the Halo clip was further improved to gracefully control and absorb the expansion and contraction of
boards in order to ensure that no harm would come to decking or cladding boards even in the harshest climates.

COLLATED CLIP
The new HULK fastenersTM collated clip is easy to use, and can be installed by hand or with a tool. HULK screws are
pre-inserted into collation clips, which have a male and female tab at either end to connect the clips to one another. The
clip spring on each clip moves independently from the screw to allow the load to be transferred to the opposite end of
the plate, forcing the clip to bite down securely to the board on which it is being applied.
Individual clips are joined together by polymer tabs to create a chain of 15 decking clips in a strip, capable of breaking
away from one another during installation. Each clip comes pre-loaded with a HULK screw for installation into either a
metal or timber substructure.
COLLATED CLIP
PLACE: Ensure that the clip rests firmly on the board groove and the spring side is appropriately supported.
FASTEN: Support the clip spring as the clip is fastened into place. Use appropriate torque and depth control.
SNAP: Tear the remaining collation strip away from the newly fastened clip.
Once you have installed clips down the full length of the board, place the subsequent board onto the joist and pull it
towards the previously installed board. Ensure that the board is appropriately ‘clicked’ into place. This may require
using a mallet to knock in the board further. Check that the board is fully inserted by ensuring the gap between the
two boards is 6 mm. Repeat.
Note: Overdriving the fasteners may result in difficulty during installation of the subsequent board. To ensure an
efficient installation process, use an appropriate torque setting and depth control.
PLACE FASTEN SNAP
INSTALLS DECKING 3 X FASTER
COLLATED CLIP
Sliding the moulded fastener units into position using the hand tool and tearing the rest of the collation away to
leave each clip in place is the easiest imaginable way to fasten boards and significantly reduces the time required to
achieve a flawless installation.
Clip/screw units are built to work with various materials and board sizes. Their stainless steel and reinforced polymer
composition make for superior-long-term performance. They are also designed to use optimal torque and depth
control to drive the screw down and fasten the board to the joist. This eliminates typical problems with cracking and
screw damage.
COMPATIBLE WITH COMPOSITE & TIMBER DECKING
In response to growing demand, Eva-Last® patented a unique line of composite deck screws in a range of colours to
match Eva-Last® and third-party composite decking products in 2016. HULK fastenersTM could now be used to improve
the look and functionality of an even greater range of decking products.

SCREW FEATURES
HULK fastenersTM feature screws that are specifically designed with a new trapezium head to prevent the build-up of debris
and displace less material when being driven into a frame or deck board. The large head area also acts as a washer to better
hold the board in position.
Reverse thread ingeniously removes materials around the screw shaft so that the board’s expansion and contraction under
various weather conditions will not cause the screw to be put under stress. A wider notched thread also assists in removing
material optimally, making HULK fastenersTM ideal for use with timber products.
