FAST FACTS

Why choose Lycoming College for your international educational experience?

There are nearly 4,500 colleges and universities within the United States. Lycoming College is one of the 50 oldest colleges in the United States, and we are ranked by the Princeton Review as one of the best Northeastern colleges in their “2016 Best Colleges: Region by Region” feature. Likewise, we have earned the rank of College of Distinction by CollegesofDistinction.com. The fact that Lycoming has also been recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education among their listing of “Great Colleges to Work For” indicates the type of familial culture that permeates our campus.

Why a “college” and not a “university”?

Lycoming College is ranked by U.S. New & World Report as one of only 213 National Liberal Arts Colleges. Within the United States, colleges focus exclusively on undergraduate education, so rather than vie with graduate students for campus resources and faculty attention, at Lycoming College, you and your fellow undergraduate students are our exclusive interest. The vast majority of our courses are taught by full-time faculty members who have dedicated their professional lives to helping undergraduate students earn a stellar four-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Over 90 percent of our faculty hold a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their field of study.

Tell me more about Lycoming College

Lycoming College is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a city perhaps most well-known for being the birthplace of Little League Baseball and home to the annual Little League World Series each August. Nestled in the Susquehanna River Valley, Williamsport is a city of 30,000 people serving a larger rural geographic region of about 100,000 people. Williamsport’s rich history includes having been the home to the most millionaires per capita during the lumber rush of the late 1800s. As such, the historic district of the city offers a gorgeous array of Victorian mansions and architecture.
