IntroductionAlessandro Dal Buoni is a fashion photographer that was born in Italy and is currently

based in London.

It all started when he was younger, where he always loved taking pictures using his

mum’s snap camera. During a trip to Paris that camera fell into the Seine, so he

received a 35mm camera for his birthday. Once he had finished the MA in Photography

at the University of Westminster, he wrote a letter to Paolo Roversi. His office returned

the call to him and was able to meet and assist him. At a similar time was when he

published his very first photo.

The photos he takes is the way he sees the world. He enjoys clarity, purity and always

aims for what is essential and avoid what is unnecessary.

WorkAlessandro Dal Buoni has taken photos

for many different fashion magazines such

as Amica, L’Officiel Italia, VO+, Rolling

Stone and The Greatest Magazine.

His work is mostly based on the same

magazines he had previously taken

photos for, especially The Greatest

Magazine and L’Officiel Italia.

StyleI believe that the photos Alessandro Dal Buoni takes differ for a different

magazine to fit the style of the magazine. For example, I find that the photos

he has taken for VO+ magazine mostly consists of jewelry, so the photos for

VO+ magazine contains more accessories. For these types of photos, the

jewelry is matched with clothing that either compliments the accessories

featured or makes the jewelry stand out.

In the photos taken for Amica and L’Officiel Italia, backgrounds are used to

match the clothing, which give it a sense of how it looks in real life situations.
