Enrolling NOW for Kindergarten 2016

If you have a child who is turning 5 before 31st July 2016 they are ready to enrol in Kindergarten for 2016. Please note: We will need to sight and take a copy of your child’s original birth certificate, immunisation certificate from Medicare and your proof of address.

If you have a child who is turning 4 before 31st July 2016 they are ready to enrol in Preschool for 2016.

Principal’s Report… What a fantastic term we have had to finish off our successful year of learning. It was wonderful to attend both the K-6 Celebration of Learning and the Preschool Graduation. Both of these occasions were filled with pride for me as the Relieving Principal, so I can only imagine what it must have been for the award winners, their parents/carers and their teachers.

Farewell to Teachers At the end of the 2015 school year we say farewell to Mrs Ta from 5/6BT, Mrs Grech from KM and Mrs Muralidhara from 3/4M who will not be with us in 2016. I’d like to thank these wonderful teachers for the contribution they have made to the learning of the students at Ashcroft and wish them all the best for the future.

Finally, on behalf of all the staff I sincerely hope each and every one of you has a safe and happy festive season and holiday period with your families and friends. I very much look forward to us returning in 2016 rejuvenated and ready for another year of working together to support our students. Ms Bull Relieving Principal

2016 Captains and Ministers We look forward to welcoming our new Ashcroft Public School Captains and Ministers into their new roles in 2016.

2016 Captains: Tavita So-oala & Lolofa Lilomaiava 2016 Student Leaders: Billy Lilomaiava, Shashant Sami, Nour Bajouri, Marwa Adib. Well done we know you will do a fantastic job.

Celebration of Learning Our Celebration of Learning was a great success. It was a time where we celebrated and acknowledged the achievement of our students. This year James Tedesco, a Wests Tigers Rugby League player was able to come the following day to further acknowledge our Sports Awards winners.

It was very pleasing to see the large number of parents attending our COL – your support is greatly valued.

Congratulations to all the students who received awards on the day and thank you to all for your effort throughout the year.

Good Luck in High School in 2016…

Year 6 Farewell Our Year 6 Farewell was held at the Liverpool Catholic Club last Thursday night 10th December 2015. Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 students who attended the evening and had a wonderful time. The staff at the Liverpool Catholic Club served us a beautiful meal in support of our celebration.

Students on Track V8 Supercars Last Friday, some very lucky students were chosen by their teachers to attend the Sydney 500 at Olympic Park, Homebush Bay to watch the V8 Supercars. What an amazing day we had! The cars were fast and noisy, the pits were full of action and some students even met Renee Gracie who made her V8 Supercar debut this year. Throughout the day we also had the chance to see stunt cars, utes and trucks racing. There were so many cars on show and an excellent time was had by all.

Stage 2 Fun Day – Bowling & Laser Tag Stage 2 students celebrated their hard work and achievements by participating in a game of bowling and a game of laser tag. The students were absolutely rapt to compete against Mr Grech, Mr Stoj, Mrs Summerfield and Mrs Muralidhara in a game of laser tag. Of course the teachers won! Hands down.

Preschool Graduation… On Monday 14th December our Preschool Graduation was held in the hall. It was great to see so many of our family and friends attend. The preschool children were very excited and were all very happy to receive their certificates. The graduation was followed by a Christmas party with a special visitor. We wish all of our preschool students the best of luck in Kindergarten in 2016 and know that they will transition into their new surroundings with confidence and ease.

Buy uniforms now for 2016 Our Uniform shop is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30am to 9.30am. If you are unable to attend during these times you can pre-order through the Office. All you have to do is complete a payment envelope with your child’s name, class, size and the item required. Then just place it in the payment box at the Office with the correct money enclosed.

Our uniform price list is available from the Office or you can download it from our website www.ashcroft-p.schools.nsw.edu.au in the ‘Our School’ section and then just click on the Uniform tab.

Change of Address & Contact details Please remember to advise the office if you have changed your address, telephone (home or mobile) number during the upcoming holidays. It is imperative that we have up to date information to allow us to contact parents/carers in the case of illness or emergencies.
