Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover frag-ments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets. ~ Luke 9: 16-17

Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ

The Message: Carry the Flame

Dear Friends in Christ, So, we’ve come to completion of this part of the journey that God has allowed us to share togeth-er. I’m humbled and grateful by what the Lord has done over these past nine years. Now, it’s time to say farewell.

My greatest desire has been to see people grow in their relationship with Christ. This has hap-pened many times over so beautifully. Jesus has been passing by and we’ve heard his voice.

What I hear over and over again is what is hap-pening for you in Eucharistic Adoration. Friends, in the silence…God speaks. This is the hope for the world. People are looking for refuge from all the noise. Invite them to come, sit with Jesus, and drink deeply. Keep praying for priest-ly vocations too. It’s working.

Our parish has embraced an effective way for people to encounter Jesus and make a decision to be a disciple through ChristLife. I beg you…keep this flame alive! The Church does not have to diminish. It’s time for us to grow! Accept the invitation to ChristLife and invite a friend.

Please forgive me for the times that I have failed and pray that what I have learned from you will bear fruit in my next assignment at the St. John Paul II Newman Center in Omaha. Please stop by and see me! If, however, God does not plan for us to meet again in this life, may we see each other happily in the next.

It has been a joy and an honor to serve you as pastor. Farewell and God be with you!

With love, Fr.

PRAYER INTENTIONS Sacred Heart Parish will be praying for parishioners in need of special prayers. The listing will be in the Sunday Bulletin and also read at weekend Masses. To be included, the following regulations will be followed: ---The person being prayed for must be a current parishioner. It is preferred that the parishioner themself call the Parish Office (contact Reggie at 402-371-2621) with the request. If the parishioner is physically unable to make the call themself, a spouse may call in the parishioner’s name and with the parishioner’s permission (a parent may call in the name of a minor child). The parish-ioner being prayed for will only be on the list for 2 weeks. ---Deadlines will follow the Bulletin article deadline listed in the bulletin. We are not able to make last minute additions. Prayer Intention books are now located at both St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart Churches. You are welcome to add your inten-tions in the book. They are located in the Narthex gathering space and Adoration Chapel at St. Mary’s Church and in the South foyer at Sacred Heart Church. Please keep these requests in your prayers and the parish will remember them also. Rosary Crusade If you are interested in being a member or in need of prayers for yourself or others, please call Diana at 402-841-6355 or Marianne at 402-379-0470.
