    Continental Supplier Portal

    The purpose of this document is to address the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) with regards to the usage

    of the Continental Supplier Portal.

    Please contact the Continental IT Service Desk in case of any questions via the corresponding service hotline

    (see Fig. 1) and provide the support agent answering the call with the following essential information:

    2. How can I receive a new user ID and/or password?

    Navigate to the Continental Supplier Portal and click on the link Forgot your password? (see Fig 3).

    Afterwards enter your email address, select one of the options and click on the Submit button. You will receive

    an email with the requested information. Please make sure that the email is not filtered to your spam folder.

    3. What can I do if I am not able to open any RFx event/response?

    Please make sure your pop-up blocker is deactivated or an exception is maintained. If not, the pop-up blocker of

    your browser may prevent the opening of the window for the event view or the response creation view. Please add

    our domain to the exception list and follow the instruction for your specific browser (see links below).

    4. How can I open/display an RFX event (read-functionality only)?

    The Supplier Portal generally provides two different modes of interaction, i.e. the Display Event mode as opposed

    to the Create Response mode. You can only quote, edit data or upload attachments using the Create Response

    mode!

    In order to open/display an RFx event (read-functionality only) please select the event number directly

    (highlighted in blue letters in the event number column; see Fig. 5) or select the box left to the event number and

    click on the Display Event button afterwards as illustrated below in Fig. 6.

    NOTE: You cannot edit, change or upload any data in Display mode!

    5. How can I create a response, i.e. quote?

    Please select the box left to the event number and click the Create Response button afterwards as illustrated

    below.

    Please remember that you can only create a response, i.e. enter data in the Create Response mode.

    6. How can I transmit / send a quote to Continental?

    Please make sure you opened the event in the Create Response mode (see chapter 5) and select Submit as

    illustrated below.

    Please note that the Save as Draft function (orange-rimmed) does not submit any data to Continental. The RFx

    response is only saved as draft so that you can continue to work on your response at a later point in time.

    Please note that the RFx event status has automatically changed to the Display RFx Response mode. Besides a

    message indicates that the RFx response has been successfully transferred to Continental as illustrated

    below. Once the response arrived at Continental a confirmation email is sent.

    Furthermore, the RFx Response Status changed to submitted as illustrated below. If your status has not changed

    automatically please select Refresh.

    7. How can I download (all) attachments?

    To download attachment you have to navigate to the Notes and Attachments area of the event. Click in the event

    overview table on the displayed number of attachments (column Event attachments, see Fig. 13) as illustrated

    below.

    If you have already opened the event in in the display mode: Select the tab Notes and Attachments as illustrated

    below (red-rimmed).

    In order to download all attachments, which were sent by Continental, click the button Download all attachments

    as illustrated below. All documents of a tender/response will be downloaded in one zip-file.

    This message indicates that the RFx

    was submitted successfully

    The following message will appear if you try to download all attachments in Create RFx Response:

    In the Create RFx Response window you can only download all attachments (from RFx event and quote), once

    you have uploaded the files into the RFx response.

    8. How can I add attachments, i.e. upload files?

    Please make sure you opened the event in the Create Response mode (see capter 5) and select the tab Notes

    and Attachment as illustrated below (red-rimmed).

    Please note that there are two Notes and Attachments sections (red and yellow). The section highlighted in

    orange is a subsection of the RFx Information section, i.e. information provided by Continental can be found

    here.

    The Notes and Attachments section highlighted in red refers to the RFx response mode, i.e. files and

    attachments can be uploaded here.

    In order to upload files, e.g. an Excel file, please select Add Attachment as illustrated below.

    Please note that you can only upload/attach files in the Create Response mode.

    9. What can I do if error when uploading... appears?

    If this upload error message appears, as illustrated below, you have to contact the Help Desk (see section 1).

    10. How can I add values, i.e add prices?

    Please make sure you opened the event in the Create Response mode.

    Please navigate to Items tab, click on the box under Price column and insert the prices as illustrated below.

    Check the total value after you enter the prices and click Submit button as illustrated below in Fig. 20.

    11. How can I edit an RFx response, i.e. edit a submitted quote, edit values?

    In order to open/display an RFx response please select the event number directly (highlighted in blue letters in

    the event number column; see Fig. 22) or select the box left to the event number and click on the Display

    Response button afterwards as illustrated below in Fig. 19.

    Please note that the RFx is opened in the Display RFx Response mode, i.e. you cannot edit or change any data.

    In order to edit the existing RFx response please select Edit as illustrated below.

    For example, if you want to update or to edit the values or quantities, navigate to Items tab, click Details and click

    on value/quantity and change it as illustrated below.

    After you finish editing data please click on Submit button.

    12. How to respond on mandatory questions within the RFx

    When sending a quotation in SPARC, events may contain mandatory default questions which have to be

    answered by the supplier in order to be able to send the quotation to Continental.

    Is recommended to always check if the RFx contains any questions defined by Continental to answer.

    To verify this go to the tab RFx information and then click on the tab Questions:

    Answer the questions accordingly and continue with Submit or to edit the RFx information as desired

    Note: If questions are defined as mandatory from the buyer, the system will not allow the send of the information showing similar error message as below:
