Family Education Event - Rocky Herron 12/4 UPCOMING EVENTS NEWSLETTER Torrey Pines High School November 22 - December 13 Academics 11/25 - 11/29- Fall Break 12/4 - Rocky Herron Presentations 12/11 - Late Start We are happy to welcome DEA Special Agent Rocky Herron back to Torrey Pines. Rocky is a 28-year veteran of the DEA and brings a wealth of experience to our community. He has been working with educators, nationally and internationally, about the dangers of drug abuse for more than 10 years and has presented to more than 100,000 students. His powerful presentation is based on his three decades in law enforcement and as a concerned parent of three daughters. Rocky tackles tough topics including the damaging impact of illegal drug use on the individual, the family, the community, as well as the national, and international levels. Rocky will present to students during an all school assembly on December 4th, and then will present to families that same night. For more information, check out our Family Education Event flyer. The Torrey Pines Dance Company is proud to present the Red Carpet Winter Dance Concert. You do not want to miss our first ever dance concert in the new Performing Arts Center. Our talented dancers have been hard at work for months, so break out your semi-formal attire and join us for an amazing night. Buy your tickets before they sell out! Falcon Feature With Fall Break upon us, it’s the time of year when we pause, give thanks for all that we have in life, and spend time with family and friends. But did you know that showing gratitude is not only good for your mental health, it’s also good for your physical health? As our lives become increasingly demanding and stressful, and social media decreases our confidence and resilience, it’s never been more important to spend some time focusing on all the things we’re grateful for. As we rush around to shop for Thanksgiving, and fight traffic to see relatives, we hope you take some time to engage your student about what it means to appreciate the life they live, and the people who are there for them. We hope you take a moment to reach out to someone you are grateful for, and let them know how important they are to you.
