• We are worried about letting these children leave class without a parent

Amar Chitra book home. They

will be asked to read it and

Seva

• Our Youth Seva program teaches our children to think about sharing and caring

• This year, all the money they raise will go to CORD, which funds rural development projects in India

Habitat for Humanity

• The Youth Seva group will host a guest

speaker TODAY

• A local representative from Habitat will

discuss how our CMP children can help in

this worthy endeavor.

• Habitat for Humanity is a well known

charitable organization dedicated to

securing affordable housing for all



CMP Yearbook

• The Youth Seva group will create a Yearbook this

year - yes, just like in regular school!

• In the spring, you can purchase a yearbook as a

memento. All proceeds will go to CORD

• Pictures for the Yearbook will be taken on

December 2, 2012, from 12:45 to 2 pm.

• Everyone, please dress appropriately on that

day for a yearbook photo (kids and adults)



Youth

Seva

• The Youth Seva committee‟s first program is a football tournament!!

• Cost: $5 per player

• All of the money will go to CORD, a program for rural development in India

• Games continue TODAY! And we promise, there won’t be any replacement referees.



Youth Seva Cleanup

• The Youth Seva

group has decided

that 3 kids will assist

each Sunday with

cleanup after lunch.



Food bank service visit on

Nov. 3 and Nov. 17

• We are looking for kids to sign up to help out at the Pittsburgh Food Bank

• You can sign up for Nov 3 or Nov 17 (or both)

• Kids must be 11 or older to sign up

• We also need two adults to help out as supervisors

• Balavihar is designed to teach children,but the adults are not forgotten!

• Our Assembly is intended for the whole family

• From 11am to 12pm, we have a Parent Satsang led by a Guru well-versed in Vedanta

• This year, the Adult Satsang will be held in the ALTAR AREA, not the auditorium



Sanskrit for adults!

• You already know about our Sanskrit class for kids on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am

• But did you know that we will soon start a beginner Sanskrit class for adults, taught by the same teacher (Jyotsna Kalavar)?

• The classes start October 10 to November 14 on Wednesday evenings, 7-9 pm

Student‟s Day!!

• It‟s early in the Balavihar year, but please mark key dates related to the annual Student‟s Day

– MAY 11, 2013 (Saturday, starting at 3 pm): Rehearsals for Student‟s Day. Rehearsal time slots will vary, check with your teacher as we get closer to the date.

– MAY 18, 2013 (Saturday), 3-8 pm: Balavihar Student’s Day, followed by dinner.

• Swami Chinmayananda, our Mission‟s founder, made it a „religion‟ to be on time, and we seek to follow his example

• Please arrive to Assembly at 10:25 am or earlier. In this way, we can set the best possible example for our children.

• At 10:30 am, the main door to the auditorium will be closed. Please enter quietly through the side door.
