• Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national student-led organization!

• The organization helps young men and women become leaders!

• We work to improve our families, careers and communities!

• Carry out community service projects!

• Attend leadership meetings!

• Compete in STAR events!

• Have FUN and meet people with the same interests as you!

• New Teacher Appreciation – We made punch and

cookies for teacher’s new to Boswell and gave them a tour of the campus!

• Kids Day In– During Christmas, we give

our teachers a break and babysit their children one Saturday. We play games and participate in numerous activities with the children!

• Red Cross Money War– After the devastating

earthquake in Galveston TX, we held a “money war” and donated the proceeds to the Red Cross

• Halloween @ Bos– We run a booth and hand

out yummy treats to those children attending!

• Special Buddies– The past two years we

have made items and crafts for the special needs students at BHS. One of our favorite activities were Valentine’s boxes.

• Family Night @ CiCi’s– We encouraged our

FCCLA members and their families to eat dinner and learn family communication tips.

• FCCLA Family Feud Night– We had members and their

families attend an evening FCCLA meeting where we had snacks and played “Family Feud.”

• North Texas Humane Society– Our FCCLA worked to

make pet beds and toys to donate to local animal shelters.

• “A Chili’s Christmas” Gift Drive– We collected toys for

disadvantaged children and attended a breakfast hosted for their families at Chili’s.

STAR Events and compete at state!

State FCCLA Leadership Meeting

• STAR Events are competitive events where members can work as an individual or a team, complete a project, and present that project in front of judges!

• Life Event Planning– Kailey, Shannon, Kalyn, Gage,

Nicole

• Promote and Publicize FCCLA– Asya, Tiara

• If you place 1st in STAR Events @ the State Meeting you can attend the National Leadership Meeting

• We are NATIONALS BOUND• Chicago, IL July 4-8, 2010

• YOU!!• Members must have enrolled in or

completed at least one course in Family and Consumer Sciences education and must pay dues.

• Chapter dues are $30 for the 2010-2011 school year!

• Dues include state, national, and local affiliation, and our chapter t-shirt
