Hanging of the Greens Sunday, December 2, 5pm First Presbyterian Church has a wonderful tradition of kicking off our Advent Season with a “Hanging of the Greens” special celebration. . Our Sanctuary will be beautifully decorated, bagpipers will lead us in song and the children’s choirs will sing. Our annual “Blessing of the Newborns” will also take place. All are invited to join us for a cookie and wassail reception following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring a dozen cookies to share and drop them off in the servery on that Sunday morning. We need lots of cookies! We look forward to sharing this tradition with you. Don’t forget to invite a friend to this family friendly service!

Advent Begins December 2 and we are in need of 10 families or individuals to light the candles on our Advent Wreaths at each of our weekly worship services (8:30am, 9:30am, 11am) on December 2, 9, 16 and 23, as well as at the 6:30pm, 8pm and 10pm Christmas Eve services on Monday, December 24. A N N O U N C E M E N T SAngel Tree The TREE is up on the patio! Many children with an incarcerated parent need you to help provide a Merry Christmas. Please stop by, pick out and register an angel, shop for the gift suggested ($35 - $40 price range) and return it to the church by NEXT SUNDAY, December 2. Many volunteers are also needed to help make the party on Sunday, December 9, 1:30 – 3:30 a memorable event for these children and their caregivers. A light lunch will be provided to volunteers. We also need LOTS of cookies for the party! A new challenge this year is to provide $50 gift cards for Angel Tree children in Florida’s Panhandle region who don’t have a local sponsoring organization. Besides having a parent in prison, many have been negatively impacted by Hurricane Michael. Please see the separate Angel section on the patio.
