WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON OPEN DAY

Choosing the right university is probably one of the biggest decisions you will make. Our open days will help you with information to make that decision. Open days are your opportunity to find out more about your subject and the way it is taught here and also to get a feel for the student experience in Brighton.

At the University of Brighton, you’ll be part of an academic community of over 21,000 students set across five campuses in three coastal locations, each with their own distinct character.

At our open days you will be able to attend subject presentations, tour the facilities available for your course and speak to academic staff who will teach you. Students will also be available to give you a firsthand account of their experiences and the support provided by the university.

Staff will be on hand to answer your queries about housing, student funding, career progression, disability and health, whilst the Students’ Union will tell you all about entertainment, clubs, societies and other opportunities, such as volunteering, that are on offer to our students.

I hope that our open day provides you with the information you need, that you enjoy the day and decide to apply to Brighton. If so, we look forward to welcoming you into our community in 2016.

Professor Julian Crampton, Vice-Chancellor

VISIT BRIGHTON

ABOUT THE CITYSandwiched between the sea and the beautiful South Downs, colourful and creative Brighton is a great place to be a student.

Dubbed an emerging super-city, Brighton is home to a fast-growing creative digital and IT industry and elected the UK’s first Green MP.

A diverse range of events throughout the year reflect the huge amount of character that makes Brighton so attractive. Events include one of the largest arts and culture festivals in England – the Brighton Festival, Brighton Science Festival, Pride, Brighton Food Festival and The Great Escape Festival – Europe’s leading festival for new music.

ABOUT THE FALMER CAMPUSOur Falmer campus is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, just four miles from the Brighton seafront. Around 7,000 students are based here and we’ve invested £60 million in this campus in the last ten years, equipping it with outstanding modern facilities.

Most students head into the lively centre of Brighton to socialise and enjoy its mix of bars, pubs, clubs, theatres, comedy and live music venues. In the summer the seafront buzzes with activities and impromptu BBQs and picnics on the beach.

Brighton is a cosmopolitan city with a friendly vibe, bohemian atmosphere and is home to three of our campuses.
