The City of Frisco is committed to serving the diverse needs of its citizens. The Frisco Parks & Recreation Department has established a Scholarship Program for qualified Frisco residents to participate in City of Frisco rec-reation programs and special events. Scholarships may not be applied to Frisco Athletic Center memberships. To download an application go to FriscoFun.org. Wiggle and WadeGrab your swimsuit and towel; it’s time to have some fun! This interac-tive class will combine games, crafts, music, reading, swimming, and play all in one. American Red Cross Water Park Lifeguard Training CourseIn this course, you will study and attain the skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies while also gaining knowledge on dry land life saving and first aid skills. A prereq-uisite 300 yard swim and a 20 yard brick retrieval test will be administered and must be passed on the first day. American Red Cross certificates issued include: Lifeguarding/Waterpark/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid & CPR/AED for Lifeguards. American Red Cross Water Safety InstructorWater Safety Instructor Course certifies participants to teach Red Cross swimming courses to infants through adults. Fundamen-tals of Instructor Training (FIT) will be included in this course. ELIGIBILITY: Be at least 16 years old and at least a Level IV swim-ming ability. Pre-course will be conducted on the first day of class. Bring swimsuit, towel, and goggles to all classes. Class times vary by day. The Learn to Swim program is proud to offer private swim lessons for children of all levels ages 3 and up. Our staff will teach the skills required to make swimming a more rewarding and enjoyable expe-rience. Sessions include three or four, 30-minute private lessons. Girls should bring their favorite dolls so we can paint portraits of them on stretched canvas. Julian graduated from the University of Houston with a major in Technology Leadership and a minor in Global Business. He believes every child should have the opportunity to explore their interests so they may grow to become happy and successful.

Frisco Tennis School recently celebrated 6 years of bringing tennis to the city’s neighborhoods with clinics all over town. Beginning players have a blast learning the basics of the sport, and advanced players gain skills as they train for school and tournament play. Frisco Tennis School is a cooperative effort of Frisco ISD and the City of Frisco to offer affordable programming on public courts. Make-ups for inclement weather or illness should be made up during each session and should be coordinated with your coach. Rackets are provided if needed. Students should bring water. Eric Wrona has been heavily involved in the fitness industry since 1995. He graduated from McMurry University with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology in 2001 and received his graduate degree from the University of North Texas in Kinesiology in 2003. Since then he has accumulated several nationally recognized fitness certifications, as well as trained other soon to be professionals in the fitness industry. His clients have ranged in age from 8 to 92 in both private and group settings. He has worked with clients that have had a variety of disabilities and diseases including: heart disease, cancer, stokes, diabetes, rheumatiod arthritis, scoliosis, cerebral palsy, parkinson’s, alzheimer’s and many others.

Eric has proudly competed in two all natural bodybuilding events, winning the 2006 “Austin Shredder.” Currently, he works with the Cenegenics Medical Institute and Dr. Rexford Ander-

son Jr. as an Exercise Physiologist and Nutritionist, in Dallas, Texas.

In May of 2010 he started a private group training class called the “X-Factor.” What started as one class, has grown into a group boot camp type style training program with over 60 members at multiple locations. In April, he launched the program at the Frisco Athletic Center with huge success.

“Twistin’ Night away”the

Photo packages to capture the memories of the evening for you and your son will be available at the event for $22. Cash or check only. Package includes two 5x7 and eight wallet -sized photographs presented in a customized folder. Participants are encouraged to arrive early for these memorable portraits. Photos will begin 30 minutes before each dance.

One of the featured and beloved activities on site at Merry Main Street is the Kid’s Holiday Store. This special store gives children 12 years and younger the opportunity to shop for moms and dads, as well as brothers and sisters. Nothing in the store is more than $5. “Santa’s Helpers” will assist children as they shop for special gifts. All shoppers will go home with wrapped gifts. Children can reserve a time slot in advance at the Merry Main Street event site beginning at 4:30 p.m. Children must secure a bracelet in advance in order to shop. Register for activities at your convenience from home! Log on to FriscoFun.org and click on the eFun online registration under Class-es and Programs to get started. A non-refundable service fee will be applied to all online transactions.

Walk-in Registration

Walk-in registration is conducted at the Frisco Athletic Center dur-ing regular hours of operation beginning August 1 for residents and Frisco Athletic Center members. Registration opens to everyone August 3. We accept cash, check, money orders and major credit cards. We will not accept credit card charges over the phone.

Complete the registration form and mail it to the address listed below with the appropriate class fees and signed waiver. Please al-low plenty of time for mail delivery, as we are not responsible for mail delays. After your registration is processed, you will receive an email confirmation. If you have not received an email confirmation within 7 days of the class start date, please call 972-292-6600 to confirm registration.

If your first class option is full, you will be enrolled in the second option you listed based on availability. If all options listed are full, you will be contacted. Please send a separate check for each class/program registration. Checks and money orders must be payable to the City of Frisco with your driver’s license and phone number included on the check. Please do not send cash through the mail.

Class Registrations are handled on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis. Classes have limited enrollment and specific registration cut-off dates.

Registration FeesAll program fees are set according to the cost of the instructor, sup-plies and minimum class enrollment. Some programs may require additional fees or supplies. All fees collected support and finance these programs.

Waiting ListsDue to instructor/participant ratios, each class and program will have a maximum number of spots available. Once the class maxi-mum has been reached, subsequent registrants will be notified that the class is full and will have the option to be placed on a waiting list. Should spots become available, program openings will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis from registrants that appear on the waiting list. If you are contacted off a waitlist, you must register and pay within 24 hours at the Frisco Athletic Center.

Quality AssuranceTry our classes! If, after attending the first class you are not happy with the quality of the program, call us right away. Tell us what is wrong so we can make it right. There are no refunds for non-atten-dance, one-day classes or supply fees.

Refund PolicyIn the event the Parks & Recreation Department cancels a class, 1. you will receive a full refund or a credit equal to the class fee; or a class transfer can be requested. A credit will be issued to the participant’s account if a completed 2. Refund Request Form is received at least 10 days prior to the start of the class or session. A 20% processing fee will be as-sessed.If a 3. Refund Request Form is not received at least 10 days prior to the start of the class or session, a refund will not be issued. Medical Refund4. – A credit will be issued to the participant’s ac-count if an illness or injury causes a participant to miss a single-day class, the entire session or the remainder of a session. To be eligible for a Medical Refund, written documentation from a physician’s office must accompany the Refund Request Form and must be received within 72 hours of the first missed class. A 20% processing fee will be assessed. The refund will be pro-rated if the withdrawal occurs during the session.Transfers from one Frisco Fun Guide season to another are not 5. allowed. Processing of refund checks from cash or check payments takes 6. approximately four to six weeks. Refund checks will be mailed.Account credits are valid for one year from the date of issue. 7. Under no circumstances will a cash refund be provided.8.

CancellationsThe Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any class, program or activity due to weather, failure to meet minimum registration requirements, and situations beyond our control. In the event a class is cancelled, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued.

Sibling PolicyThe structure of the parent/child classes are designed for direct in-teraction between one parent and one child. We allow only children who are of the appropriate age and registered for the class to attend the program. Other siblings or children will not be permit-ted in the classroom or allowed to be left unattended in the lobby outside of the class.

Returned Check PolicyA $35 service charge will be assessed for any returned check.

If you or a family member has special needs and would like to participate in our programs or use a facility, please call us before registering and every effort will be made to meet your needs.
