When she and her husband were unable to feed their six children, Junus was offered

a spot in the Umucyo co-op . At first, Junus was nervous to spend six months in

sewing school without income , but she took a risk and attended class every

day, becoming one of the group’s most committed seamstresses . She recently

gave birth to a new baby , Jennifer , and was back to work within two weeks .

Noonday Collection’s first trunk show was hosted by founder Jessica Honegger in her home as a means to

raise money to adopt her son from Rwanda. The style and purpose of the products drew an overwhelming

response, the business quickly grew beyond a fundraiser, and her head is still spinning. Jessica soon

partnered up with another socially minded friend, Travis wilson. Both Travis and Jessica spent years living in resource poor areas of the world and both dreamed of starting a business that would alleviate

poverty through entrepreneurship.
