Hello fellow Kiwiners! This November we will be having our

annual super festive, cheer filled Fall Rally. For those who are

not familiar with Fall Rally, it is a day dedicated to raising

awareness of and supporting Pediatric Trauma Program. Pedi-

atric Trauma Program, or commonly known as PTP, is one of

our three district projects. This is a day where all nine divi-

sions unite as a whole like pieces of a puzzle coming together

to not only focus on raising awareness of PTP, but also to

show what each division is made of through events such as

WHY DO WE HAVE FALL RALLY?

Fall Rally is a day dedicated specially just for

members to showcase their passion for KI-

WIN’S as well as a day to meet new people from

around the district. It is a gathering in support

and in celebration of who we are as an Ohana.

Fall Rally is also in honor of one cause. As a dis-

trict, we devote this day to Pediatric Trauma

Program, to not only raise awareness but al-

so to support the cause as a loving district!

WHAT IS PEDIATRIC TRAUMA?

Established in 1992, Pediatric Trau-

ma Program, our Minor Emphasis, is

a main focus of KIWIN'S in conjunc-

tion with Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis. Pediat-

ric Trauma affects children from in-fancy to age nineteen. It is a result of motor vehicle acci-

dents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and ani-

mal bites, making it the leading cause of death of chil-

dren in the United States. Every year it results in sixteen

million emergency visits and twenty thousand deaths.

To prevent these accidents and injuries from happening,

KIWIN'S has focused on fighting Pediatric Trauma

through raising funds and by increasing general aware-

ness through education.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

At Fall Rally, there are going to be tons of activi-

ties to participate in, laugh at, and listen to! So

don’t worry if you feel like you won’t be able to

do much. Some of the things you can expect

PENNY WARS

Penny Wars is a long with standing tradition at Fall Ral-

ly. It is a competition between the divisions on who can

raise the most money towards PTP. Unlike any competi-

tion, Penny Wars is unique because it directly focuses

on one coin, the penny. However, this year has a bit of a

twist to this game! First off, for those who want to avoid

the actual “war”, members will be able to drop off their

change before Fall Rally begins in specified divisional

boxes. Secondly, the aspect of SAFETY for the actual

competition is and will be continued to be stressed.

This means that pushing, shoving, punching, kicking,

water bending, or any sorts of evil mockery will not be

tolerated. If any members are caught doing such things,

their division will be automatically punished.
