THE HANOVER PARK SCHOOL OF DANCEWelcome to the Hanover Park School of Dance, managed by the Ha-nover Park Park District. We are committed to providing an excellent dance education to students of all ages. Classes meet for a 25-week session culminating in a Spring Recital.

Dancers gain valuable self-confi dence as they master new skills, learn to be a part of an ensemble, and achieve long-term goals while they prepare for their performances at the end of the year. Each dancer will receive a beautiful achievement award during the last week of class.

Parents, please carefully read the information packet you will receive at registration. It is your responsibility to know and understand the rules of the program. For more information about dance attire, at-tend the Dance Parent Meeting (see below).

Instructors reserve the right to place a dancer in a different class if it is more appropriate. If you are unsure about the right class for your dancer, attend the Dance Parent Meeting on Wednesday, September 7 or contact Susan Matthews at [email protected] or (630) 837-2468 ext. 132 for more information.

Hanover Park Park District | 630.837.2468 | hpparks.org

Bike Path and Trails Maintenance PolicyMother Nature will be allowed to take her own course of action with respect to our park district bike paths and trails, located at Commu-nity Park, Ahlstrand Park, Harbor Park East-West, Nautilus Park and Ranger Park. In Illinois there is no legal duty to clear paths or trails. But if an agency voluntarily takes on the job, liability may be imposed if it is not done properly.

The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) recommends that we limit path maintenance to a thorough season-ending inspec-tion and documentation of irregularities, that we fi x any hazards and that we post signs conveying the message that users of the paths and trails do so at their own risk.

Northwest Special Recreation AssociationThe Hanover Park Park District is a member of a cooperative agree-ment among 17 park districts which forms the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). The NWSRA team of full-time Therapeutic Recreation professionals and trained part-time staff of-fer safe, fun and high quality year-round recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities of all ages and ability levels. For more in-formation on NWSRA, brochures may be picked up at the park district main offi ce or at the NWSRA offi ce at Park Central, 3000 W. Central Road in Rolling Meadows. NWSRA may be contacted at (847) 392-2848 (voice) 392-2855 (TTY) or 392-2870 (fax). Check us out on the web at nwsra.org.

Thank you to the Village of Hanover Park, Lions Club, and Hanover Park Park FoundationThe staff and commissioners of the Hanover Park Park District take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Village of Hanover Park and the Hanover Park Lions Club for their generous fi nancial donations that make participation in recreation programs possible for the chil-dren of families experiencing fi nancial hardship. Working together, the Hanover Park Youth Activity Supplement Program of the Village of Hanover Park, the Lions Club, and the Hanover Park Park Foundation have assisted many families in Hanover Park to provide activities such as karate, dance, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, swim lessons, aquatic facility passes, and summer camp for their children. Since 1998, more than 500 individual scholarships have been awarded totaling more than $50,000.00 Thank you, Lions Club and Village of Hanover Park. Through your dedication, cooperation, and generosity you have en-riched the lives of many children by giving them the opportunity to participate in our Park District’s programs.
