This month, we are excited to eat at the Naborhood Bakery & Café located at Gardner Village. Each year, Gardner Village decorates for Halloween and Fall Festivities. It’s fun to walk around and see all the festive displays and check out the shops. We will have about 2 hours to walk around before we meet up for dinner to eat all together. Seating is outdoor, so dress warm.

Join us for a movie with Monday Movie Mania! We show old classics you know and love and a few recent flicks too. Bring your own snacks if you’d like, but we will have popcorn!

This month we will watch “The Phantom of the Opera”- With the music and Andrew Lloyd Webber, this “spooky” movie is great for October. From his hideout beneath a 19th century Paris opera house, the brooding Phantom (Gerard Butler) schemes to get closer to vocalist Christine Daae (Emmy Rossum). Come and see!

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Senior Center Members!” Join us for our annual Halloween Lunch Party– with our theme from Charlie Brown. Come dressed in costume for the costume contest; play games as you “trick or treat” around the room; “carve pumpkins” and of course watch “The Great Pumpkin”. This will be a fun way to celebrate the holiday and get a little candy of your own.

As you may know, open enrollment for Medicare begins on October 15 and goes to the beginning of December. During this time, you can evaluate your current plan, make changes, or switch plans. We’ll have a variety of organizations come to speak with us and offer information, advice and consultation. They will also answer questions you may have. Thursdays– Starts October 10

We are excited to start another course on lipreading, or speech reading. This class is about 8-10 weeks long. In

the class you will learn how the lips are formed for different sounds, how to watch for body language, and over all develop better communication.

This class is great for those who are hard of hearing, or have family and friends who are hard of hearing.

We need at least 5 people to hold the class. Please register or stop by with questions.

Wednesdays– specific dates below

This is a great class to help you relax and learn to be more aware of your surroundings, your breathing, emotions and body. Come learn about mindfulness and over-all wellness for your life.

Registration is suggested, but not required. This is free to attend for Senior Center Members. There is a $10 fee for those who are not members.

FREE FOOD!!! Mondays, we get Auntie Annie’s pretzels, pretzel bites, and flavored pretzels. These are donated to us to eat, distribute, share and take home. Please stop by to pick up a bag.

Wednesdays, we get various food and grocery items donated from Tabitha’s Way. Items may include: breads, produce, cakes, vegetables, canned goods, and more. Please stop by and pick up items!

Please be respectful of ALL our patrons in sharing the opportunity to receive this benefit by taking only a few items. Please bring your own bags to carry out the items. Although we try to be consistent, there are days that items will not be picked up. If desired– call ahead to make sure items are here.

Every Wednesday during lunch we will be raffling off Pizza Hut pizzas (pizzas will be frozen). Pizzas are awarded one per family. See conditions below:

You MUST attend lunch in order to have your name entered into the pizza drawing. This means you MUST RSVP for lunch by 12:00 p.m. the day before.
