Important Notes: Gymnasts will be grouped within the class

according to age, ability and prior experience. Placement in the proper instructional group is crucial to your child’s safety and

enjoyment.

Gymnastics Instruction For Girls:

Participants will receive instruction on the four women’s Olympic events: Floor Exercise, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Vault. Gymnasts may also use the Tumble Trak and Trampoline for skill development.

— Gymnasts who are not dressed properly cannot participate for safety reasons—

Gymnast Attire:

It is highly recommended that all gymnasts wear a leotard or unitard. A tank top or well-fitting

T-shirt with lycra shorts/pants are also suitable.

Skirts, dresses, jeans/pants with zipper/button-closure and loose-fitting attire are unacceptable

for safety reasons.

Jewelry Notice:

ALL JEWELRY MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE GYM.

Newly-pierced ears may be “taped-over” prior to gymnast entering the gymnasium.

Staff is not responsible for jewelry that is removed after entering the gymnasium.

DODGEBALL Come on down to play everyone’s favorite game!! Doctor Dodgeball,

Prison Dodge, Pinball, GaGa, Scatterball, are just of the few of the

variations of dodgeball that will be played under the guidance of the

Rec. Department Staff. Open to children in grades 2-5.

Thursday afternoons from 4-5pm in the upstairs gym.

GAME ON!! Do you love board and card games but can’t seem to get enough people together to

play? Parents, would you like to get your kids off their tablets and play the games you

grew up with? Come to the Rec to safely socialize, make new friends and play classics or

learn new games. Headbandz, Spot It!, Clue, Monopoly, Jenga, Apples to Apples,

Battleship and many more!

CrossFit Kids at The Rock is a functional strength and conditioning program designed especially for kids, utilizing the revolutionary CrossFit method. We teach children about functional exercises that mimic the everyday movements they do when they play- like pull, push, run throw, climb, lift and jump. We promote better nutrition and eating habits and the development of greater self-confidence, leadership and teamwork skills. We focus on having fun, building strong and healthy

bodies and minds, and develop within your child a lifelong love of fitness. This exciting program is for boys and girls ages 6-8 and 9-12 (1-hour class).

All classes are taught by CrossFit The Rock certified coaches.

INTRODUCTION TO GYMNASTICS: Movement education, basic tumbling skills and an introduction to gymnastics

apparatus as a basis for more formal gymnastics instructions and as a good foundation for other sports.

INTRODUCTION TO TAP/BALLET: This class introduces the fundamentals of Ballet and Tap along with the

enjoyment of movement to music for children age 4 must enrolled in a Prek 4 program. WEDNESDAYS 3:45-4:45pm (Age 4) Children need ballet and tap shoes and must be appropriate age at first class.

MS. PATTY’S TUMBLE-TIME: Movement education classes featuring activities with large-muscle

motor skills and basic gymnastics concepts using Roll Around and gymnastics apparatus. For children ages 16 - 23 months (Tumble Babies), 2 yrs. old (Tumble Tots), or 3 yrs. old (Tumble Bee’s) Note: Tumble Babies and Tots are with an adult; Tumble-Time Bee’s must separate- if not, should attend Tumble Tots.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TUMBLES DURING COVID:

Only enrolled children will be allowed to attend classes (Sorry no siblings)

Adults will be required to wear masks at all times

In Tumble Babies and Tumble Tots classes full participation from adult is required

Both child and adult are asked to remove shoes for activity, adults must wear socks for duration of class

Introductory gymnastics classes geared to the developmental stages of children ages 16-23 months (Tumble Babies), 24 to 35 months (Tumble Tots), 36 to 48 months (Tumble Bees). Children and parents will enjoy

exploratory activities followed by instruction with emphasis placed on large motor skills and basic gymnastic

concepts, accomplished through music and varied activities on our agility and gymnastics apparatus.

Prepare your dog for the “social season” with an 8-week session of Dog Obedience classes, taught by Rena Dershowitz. Group classes offer natural distractions, learn-by-example, and a comfortable environment for you

and your dog to grow. Three classes are offered weekly on Monday evenings.

ALL DOG HANDLERS MUST BE AT LEAST 17.
