TABLE OF CONTENTSWelcome Back! The City of Kawartha Lakes Parks, Recreation and Culture Division is pleased to welcome you back to the pool! We have an exciting line up of aquatic programs for this Fall at the Lindsay Recreation Complex. Both the facility as well as the programming will operate under strict new COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, spectators and our staff.

In addition to Pre-School, School Age, Aqua Fitness, Water Therapy and Private lessons, we are pleased to offer new Social Bubble Lessons this Fall. Visit page 11 to learn more.

To help ensure our Aquatic programs are conducted in compliance with local public health regulations, Lifesaving Society’s guidelines, and provincial guidelines, we have implemented the following: • Reduced the capacities for our pools and programs. • Physical distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced on

the pool deck, in the water and throughout the facility. • Screening protocols. • Enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures. • Introduction of a new Change Room Policy. • All participants and patrons will be required to wear a mask

or face covering while in the facility (with the exception of while in the pool).

Read our complete COVID-19 Pool Rules and Safety Protocols found on page 5 to review all of the procedures we will be implementing for participant, patron and staff safety and to ensure your experience at the pool is both a safe and enjoyable one.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE COMING TO THE POOL

www.kawarthalakes.ca/swim 5

Are pools safe to use at this time?

Swimmers must continue to take general precautions, including physical distancing of at least 6 feet (2 meters), especially in communal areas such as washrooms.

Current evidence suggests that COVID-19 is largely transmitted through respiratory droplets that can spread up to six feet but does not spread through water in recreational facilities.

Cleaning and disinfection of the pool area, as well as washrooms, will be done after every swim.
