There is an EASY way to register for Sunova Centre Programs
Step #1: Visit the RECREATION Tab on www.weststpaul.com
Step #2:
Click on the Sunova Centre Programs option in the menu on the left
Step #3:
If you wish to participate in a program complete the FALL 2018 Sunova Centre Program
On-Line Registration Form By completing this On-Line Form we will know how many
participants we will accept for each program
Please Note: Some work computers may block access to the On-Line Registration Form, so if you cannot access it try
it on your personal computer or on your mobile device!
Step #4: Payments can be submitted to the Sunova Centre Office prior to class or on the first class - Payments are accepted
in cash or cheque (made payable to the RM of West St. Paul)
Please Note: There may be some programs listed in this document that you will need to contact the instructor or organization directly in order to register. If this is the case, the contact information will be listed directly in the program description!
NOTE: Programs listed can only run if registrations/attendees exceed the required minimum number of participants!

Moving with MUSCLE 55+ - A great class to keep the body moving and strong! This workout alternates
muscle conditioning exercises (using weights, bands and even your own body weight) with low-impact
movements. It can be adapted to any fitness level and can even be done in a chair! Instructor: Heather Bailey

Mom & Baby Yoga For mama’s and their babies between 4weeks & 12months.
Regain strength, flexibility and stamina as you bond with your baby! This class is designed for new mama’s to tone
and lengthen your muscles, strengthen your posture, relieve tension in the upper body, and safely rebuild core strength. Enjoy special time with your baby, either holding your baby in your arms, leaning against your leg, on your front, sitting in your lap or resting on a blanket. Special
attention is paid to the babies at the beginning of classes including breath work to calm babies and connect mama’s breath to babies, as well as massage and stretches for the
babies. Please bring your yoga mat & a blanket. Instructor:

Curling season is fast approaching and the West St. Paul Curling
Club has leagues looking for curlers of all ages & levels of experience! Various Leagues are available to register for:
Men’s: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings Ladies: Monday, Wednesday evenings
Seniors: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings Mixed: Friday evenings
Juniors Program: Saturday mornings Curling is a great way to be physically active, socialize and participate in your community. Registration will be

Emergency First Aid & CPR Course The Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR Course is a
basic 1-day course offering an overview of first aid & cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the
latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including
injury prevention content, CPR and AED. Course Content: Preparing to respond; The EMS system;
Check, Call, Care; Airway emergencies; Breathing and circulation emergencies; First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest; Wound care

$30.00/Participant/Class Join us at the Sunova Centre and learn how to make your very own Bath Bombs! Each partici-pant will receive all the supplies needed and will
leave with approx. ten to eleven 90g bombs. There will be more than 50 scents to choose
from and plenty of colour options as well! Each participant will make two batches of bombs so
you can personalize each batch with a scent and colour of your choice. ALL AGES WELCOME!
Ages 6yrs+ are welcome to register with a parent (both participants must register and pay).

Dynamic First Aid Courses
A minimum of 10 participants needed

Introduction to Spanish - With nearly 500 million speakers, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world.
Outside of Spain, from Mexico to the tip of Argentina, it is the language of Latin American culture and our neighbours to the South. Are you planning on a taking a family trip and want to
communicate with the locals even just a little bit? Come have some fun and learn this beautiful language. Instructor: Ebony Hunter 8-Classes - Sundays - October 14th-December 9th - 1:30-3pm

Babysitters Course The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course offers basic first aid and
caregiving skills for youth ages 11-15yrs old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups and how to prevent
and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.
Course Content: How to be responsible and demonstrate leader-ship; How to make good decisions & manage difficult behaviours; Info on children’s development & specific strategies for each stage; How to feed, diaper, dress and play with children & babies; How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe
behaviours; First aid skills; The business of babysitting Prerequisite: Minimum of 11yrs of age (or completion of Gr. 5)

STAY SAFE Course Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges. The Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe course teaches applicable and
age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a
variety of different situations. Course Content: The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself; The importance of setting and
following safety rules when on your own; How to stay safe at home and within the community; How to prepare for, recognize and respond to
unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits); Basic first aid skills
Prerequisite: 9-12yrs (or completion of Gr. 3)
