Sleep Tight, CharlieMichaël Escoffier and Kris Di Giacomo
It’s been a busy day, and Charlie, like any tired rabbit, is ready for bed. He arranges
his slippers and glass of water, finds his teddy bear, and checks to make sure there
are no monsters under the bed. But just as he drifts off to sleep, TAP TAP TAP,
a loud noise outside the window, wakes him up. It’s not just the tapping of Bird that
keeps him up, Squirrel starts cracking nuts, then Mouse begins playing on the swings.
Will Charlie ever get some rest?! This playful and beautifully illustrated picture
book is funny and entertaining. Charlie’s humorous expressions, inspired by slapstick
comedians like Charlie Chaplin, will make you laugh out loud at every turn.
Paris-based Kris Di Giacomo (enormous Smallness) is a noted illustrator of more
than thirty children’s books, including twenty with best-selling author Michaël
Escoffier, such as Take Away the A, The Day I Lost My Superpowers, and Where’s
the Baboon? He lives in Lyon, France.
Back at home. . .
Charlie drinks a sip of water.
He places his glass back
on his bedside table.
He puts his slippers on the rug.
He makes sure there isn’t
a monster under his bed.
He hugs his teddy bear tight.
He closes one eye, then the other.
And then Charlie falls asleep.

The Quiet CrocodileNatacha Andriamirado and Delphine Renon
Fossil loves peace and quiet, and as much as he loves his friends too,
sometimes they can be a bother. What happens when the noisy bunch
comes by to play at nap time? Are crocodiles as fierce as they say?
The Quiet Crocodile is an entertaining story with a surprising end
that will engage both parents and children time and again. The lovingly
drawn, charming illustrations are full of thoughtful details that offer
something new with each reading. An added bonus are clever color dots
that appear alongside the text for each new animal entering the story,
introducing children to the concept of symbols and encouraging them
to name colors as they count Fossil’s many friends.
Natacha Andriamirado studied philosophy at the Sorbonne before
she turned her attention to writing. She is the author of I write for
My Dog and Caracal. Delphine Renon is a graphic designer based
in Paris, who has illustrated ten children’s books.
HIS FAVORITE THING IS TO DAYDREAM,
AND TO THINK.
AWAY FROM ALL THE RACKET AND HUBBUB.
THERE’S JUST ONE THING THAT BOTHERS FOSSIL.
OF COURSE!
CROCODILES ARE QUIET, BUT THEY ARE ALSO QUICK.
(AND, AS EVERYBODY KNOWS, THEY’RE FIERCE.)

Art Up CloseFrom Ancient to Modern
Claire d’Harcourt
This sequel to the best-selling Masterpieces Up Close is another fun, interactive book
that introduces works of art from museums around the world across different eras and
styles, including an ancient Egyptian papyrus, a Byzantine mosaic, Renaissance frescoes,
a medieval European tapestry, Arabic and Aztec manuscripts, Japanese woodblock
prints, and impressionist, surrealist, and cubist paintings.
Full-color reproductions of twenty-three famous works of art provide a colorful
hunting ground for over two hundred close-up details. Lift-the-flap keys at the end of the
book provide intriguing facts about the works and the artists who created them. Young
readers will learn how artistic expression has developed through the centuries and
discover how looking at familiar images up close reveals new insights into the world of art.
Claire d’Harcourt is a children’s book editor and the author of Masterpieces Up Close
and Louvre Up Close. She lives in France.

D.I.Y. DollhouseBuild and Decorate a Toy House Using Everyday Materials
Alexia Henrion
D.I.Y. Dollhouse is a lavishly illustrated guide for budding architects, builders, and
designers, showing them how to build and furnish their own eco-friendly dollhouse,
with an incredible eye for detail. The simple instructions cover everything children
(and parents) need to get started, from making rooms out of crate boxes and pieces
of scrap fabric to crafting countless furniture and household items using recycled
materials, such as empty plastic containers and bottles, bottle caps, cardboard boxes,
plastic trays, drinking straws, and more.
Learn how to transform these easy-to-find household items into a sofa, bunk
bed, desk chair, fridge, stove, bucket and mop, or even a hot tub for the rooftop
garden, and come up with ideas of your own. The photographs of the finished
interiors provide plenty of inspiration, and the project is sure to keep crafty children
busy for days on end.
Alexia Henrion is a freelance illustrator based in Hamburg, Germany. She received
her bachelor of arts from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in 2010 and
her master of arts in book illustration in 2013.

Thinking of You NotecardsBrian Rea
From Brian Rea, the illustrator of the hugely
popular New York Times weekly column Modern
Love, comes Thinking of You, a set of twelve
different blank cards that express the intimate,
and sometimes complex, moments of
contemporary life, including love, thanks,
sympathy, apology, new baby, housewarming,
and empathy, in his signature warm and
engaging style.

Observer’s Notebook: Home
Our Observer’s Notebooks on astronomy, trees, and weather, have won praise for
their unique combination of a beautiful journal aesthetic with useful lab-notebook-like
information. Home is the latest addition to the series. What can you do with a box
of baking soda? A half of a lemon? The answers are myriad and extend far beyond the
kitchen. The fourth title in our Observer’s Notebook series, Home features 160 pages
of lined paper, along with useful charts and drawings. Whether you need a guide to
canning and pickling, or a handy chart of kitchen knives, Home blends compelling and
practical information with a plentiful assortment of lined pages for writing, recording,
journaling and list-making.
John Muir Notecards
Known in his lifetime as Mountain John, no one
did as much to foster appreciation for the natural
beauty of the American landscape as John Muir.
The Scottish-born naturalist walked thousands
of miles across the United States, but loved, above
all, California, the Sierra Nevada, and Yosemite.
His prolific writings—three hundred articles and
ten books—and passionate prose about nature and
our place in it were read by millions of nineteenth-
century Americans, leading to the creation of
our national park system. He also founded the Sierra
Club, which carries on his program of conservation
and preservation 125 years later. His words ring
truer than ever today, potent reminders to protect
the natural splendors of our land and to root our
spirits in nature.

The Olivetti Pattern Series Notebook
Our stunning Olivetti Pattern notecards are writ large in this elegant
all-purpose journal featuring patterns made on an Olivetti Lettera 22
typewriter, a design icon held in the collections of the MoMA and the
Cooper Hewitt, and revered by writers from Sylvia Plath to John
Updike. The beautiful hardcover journal includes a set of ribbon
markers: one red and another black, like the two-color ribbon on a
vintage Lettera 22.

An exquisite compendium of botanical
sketches by eighty artists, scientists,
and amateur botanists from around the
world and from the fifteenth to the
twentieth centuries, including Leonardo
da Vinci, Georg Dionysius Ehret,
Carl Linnaeus, Maria Sibylla Merian,
Mark Catesby, Helen and Margaret Shelley
(sisters of the novelist Mary Shelley),
and many others.
“ The early 20th century saw a boom in
experimental and beautiful, but ultimately
fraught, diagnostic tests. Psychobook
compiles them in a gorgeous collection.”
—Wired
“ Dear Data paints a human portrait with
data. With each graph and information
map, we get a deeper sense of the authors’
personalities. What emerges from this
