Registration Information

The Construction Institute offers workshop assessments to participants to complete at

the end of each workshop to assess basic knowledge of the workshop topic.

Most assessments will be online and distributed to participants via email after the completion of each workshop.

Certificates of participation will be distributed to participants after successful

completion of the workshop assessment.

Certificate in Construction Management Construction Management certificate provides thorough up-to-date preparation for effective leadership in the field. Complete six workshops, including four “core” workshops and two electives from an extensive list of informative offerings.

Certificate in Facilities ManagementDesigned for practicing Facility Management professionals to insure they have the necessary knowledge to develop and execute the strategic and operational mission of facilities management. Earn the Certificate in Facilities Management by completing six workshops including five “core” workshops and one elective from an extensive list of informative offerings.

Certificate in Project ManagementFor supervisors, project managers, or those who desire to become project managers; the Certificate in Project Management is comprised of six 4-hour workshops designed to provide essential skills and a solid foundation for long-term development in managing construction and capital projects.

Certificate in BIM (Building Information Modeling) The BIM Certificate Program is designed to provide a basic understanding and knowledge of the technologies, business, organizational, legal and insurance issues, relative to each participant in the project's life cycle. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Construction Institute at the University of Hartford are offering a 2-day course for practicing engineers on the design and rating of steel railroad bridges. Workshop participants should have a background in structural engineering, but not specifically in the field of railroad bridges.Learning Objectives • To cover the basics of the different

types of railroad decks.• To cover the current AREMA code

requirements regarding steel bridges.• Go through a detailed step-by-step

design of a railroad bridge, as well as the rating of an existing bridge.
