ABOUT THIS ‘ZINEThe illustrations in this e-’zine were created by participants of the year-long online class, “2014: Year of the Fairy Tale.”
“The Magic Horse” was our seventh fairy tale, and submitting an illustration for this ‘zine was an optional assignment.
Each participant chose a magic animal or object to incorporate into this modified tale. Each illustrator also wrote the accompany-ing text. I hope you enjoy it!

Once upon a time in the land of Persia there lived in ancient times a king. Now it was the custom in that country for a great festival be held in the new year, during which people of all walks of life presented themselves to the king with offerings.
There were many wonderful gifts that day, but then a sage brought to the king a “magic” horse,
“What can this horse do?” the King asked skeptically.
“I will show you,” said the man.
And he pushed a lever behind the left ear of The Magic Horse and it turned into a magic...

who it hugs becomes happy.
The Magic Bear then claps its paws together
