Mothers Life Skills classes include Bible Study and lessons on parenting, financial management, health and nutrition, home and time management, boundaries, and job readiness. Each mother is also attending college or a vocational school and working towards becoming independent and self-sufficient. Weekly they meet with our Program Staff to account for goals and for counsel. God is faithful and miracles are witnessed daily! This summer the children at Midland Fair Havens had the opportunity to put into practice some of the Character Traits they learned in our Junior Life Skills Classes. Each week they prepared snacks to deliver to the children participating in the tutoring program at Casa de Amigos. This gave them a chance to practice sharing, working together, thoughtfulness as well as math as they worked on doubling recipes! Life Skills Classes at Midland Fair Havens prepare both mothers and their children for a brighter future, as they become healthy and self supportive families and individuals.
