Melanoma struck during the prime of my life and for the next 2 years I struggled to feel normal. But, then I got involved with StupidCancer.org and started meeting fellow survivors, many of them runners. So, in 2013 I challenged myself to 12 races. And, in 2014 I accomplished my 14-race goal. Running has taught me I am strong and how to push myself physically, mentally & emotionally to reach my goals.” M a k i n g A HU GE Di f f e r e n c e I n Y o u r Ho me t o w n Terry Shines Strong for Our Troops Terry is president of the Oregon Blue Star Mothers who tirelessly support the military, their families and our veterans. Combining her passion for fitness and caring for military families, she says, “We send care packages to the troops and raise funds with events like our Run for the Fallen 5K.” Terry and her Blue Star Mothers chapter are currently busy building a memo- rial refuge at the Willamette National Cemetery. Cam & Zan Go Coast to Coast for Kids! Zan Roman and Cam Coupe, both 19-years-old, raised money for Seattle Children’s Hospital by walking from Seattle to New York City last year! On the road for 165 days from May to October, they have truly changed lives while sharing the experience of a lifetime.100% of the money Cam and Zan raised was donated to Autism Research and the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
