Reflection: Coming to the Lord’s Supper at Faith Church
The Lord Jesus Christ established the Lord’s Supper as a means of grace,
whereby He seals the promise of the Gospel to His disciples by faith. His
crucified body and shed blood is proclaimed through the visible signs of the
bread and the fruit of the vine. When we come in a right manner, we are fed
by Christ – not physically because the bread and juice remain what they are,
but spiritually – as He feeds and nourishes our souls so that we would live for
Him now and forever.
Because this is the Lord’s Supper, not the supper of Faith Church, we warmly
encourage all who come in a right manner to participate as we are knit
together in one body.
What is that “right manner”?
First, that you be a communing member in good standing of a church where
His Gospel is faithfully proclaimed. If you are not a Christian or joined to a
particular church, we encourage you to use this time instead to consider a right
relationship with God that is available to you in Jesus Christ.
Second, that you have examined yourself to be free of any sin of which you
refuse to repent, particularly the wrong of refusing to reconcile with a brother
or sister. God tells us to not take of this meal in such a state lest we eat and
drink judgment on ourselves. That does not mean that this table is for those
who are perfect. Quite the contrary! This table is for sinners. It is given,
graciously and freely by our Savior, for all who know their need of Him, trust
Him as the only ground of salvation, and come to Him to be assured anew of
His forgiveness and for grace to overcome sin.

Welcome to Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church. We are glad you are here this morning.
If you are visiting us, please sign and indicate that in the attendance booklet during the
offering so that we can properly thank you for coming. Our service liturgy is inspired by
the story of God’s Word and is designed to introduce you to, or renew you in, the good
news of Jesus Christ. During the service, indicates when the congregation stands, and
when we are seated. Ushers will be happy to provide hearing-assisted headsets or large-
print editions of the bulletin for those who need it. Please silence (or turn on “vibrate”
mode) your cellular phone/mobile device.

Greeting Pastor Andy Pickens
Call to Worship Psalm 86:12-13 (ESV)
I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify
your name forever. 13For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have
delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Profession of Our Faith Westminster Shorter Catechism 28
Q – In what does Christ’s exaltation consist?
A - Christ’s exaltation exists in His rising from the dead on the third day, in
ascending up into heaven, in sitting at the right hand of God the Father, and in
coming to judge the world at the last day.
Invocation
Hymn of Praise: “Holy, Holy, Holy!” (Anon), Trinity Hymnal #100

Our Fall
Confession of Sin: 1 John 1:6-8 (ESV)
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and
do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us
from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is
not in us.
Corporate Prayer of Confession:
Corporate prayer of confession: Father, we confess that we have sinned – in
what we think, in what we say, in how we live. We make no excuse for
them. They are our actions. We have no plea other than Jesus Christ – but we
thank you that He also pleads for us. Thank you for that grace that we cannot
imagine, that our sins are paid by Him. All we ask is that you would strengthen
us in Jesus to follow Him, with all our of lives, and to His glory – Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: 1 John 1:9 (ESV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.

Songs of Response: Lion Of Judah (Mark)
Verse 1
You're the Lion of Judah
The Lamb who was slain
You ascended to heaven
And ever more will reign
At the end of the age
When the earth You reclaim
You will gather the nations before You
And the eyes of all men
Will be fixed on the Lamb
Who was crucified
With wisdom and mercy and justice
You'll reign at Your Father's side
Chorus
And the angels will cry hail the Lamb
Who was slain for the world rule in pow'r
And the earth will reply You shall reign
As the King of all kings
And the Lord of all lords
Verse 2
There's a shield in our hand
And a sword at our side
There's a fire in our spirits
That cannot be denied
'Cause the Father has told us
For these You have died
For the nations who gather before You
And the ears of all men
Need to hear of the Lamb
Who was crucified
Who descended to hell
Yet was raised up to reign
At His Father's side

Jesus Paid It All (Christ I Owe) – (Hall/Grape)
Verse 1
I hear the Saviour say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all
Chorus Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Verse 2
Lord now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone
Verse 3
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calvary's Lamb
Verse 4
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat
7
Thou Lovely Source Of True Delight - (Steele/Twit)
Verse 1
Thou lovely source of true delight
Whom I unseen adore
Unveil Thy beauties to my sight
That I might love Thee more,
Oh that I might love Thee more.
Verse 4
But ah! Too soon the pleasing scene
Is clouded o’er with pain
My gloomy fears rise dark between
And I again complain,
Oh and I again complain
Verse 2
Thy glory o’er creation shines
But in Thy sacred Word
I read in fairer, brighter lines
My bleeding, dying Lord,
See my bleeding, dying Lord
Verse 5
Jesus, my Lord, my life, my light
Oh come with blissful ray
Break radiant through the shades of
night
And chase my fears away,
Won’t You chase my fears away
Verse 3
‘Tis here, whene’er my comforts droop
And sin and sorrow rise
Thy love with cheering beams of hope
My fainting heart supplies,
My fainting heart’s supplied
Verse 6
Then shall my soul with rapture trace
The wonders of Thy love
But the full glories of Thy face
Are only known above,
They are only known above

Sermon: “Vision Six & Seven: Removing the Sin of the People”
Pastor Dan Perrin
Word of God – Zechariah 5:1-11 (NIV)
I looked again - and there before me was a flying scroll! 2 He asked me, “What do
you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll, thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.” 3 And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for
according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to
what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. 4 The LORD
Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the
house of him who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in his house and destroy
it, both its timbers and its stones.’” 5 Then the angel who was speaking to me came
forward and said to me, “Look up and see what this is that is appearing.” 6 I asked,
“What is it?” He replied, “It is a measuring basket.” And he added, “This is the
iniquity of the people throughout the land.” 7 Then the cover of lead was raised, and
there in the basket sat a woman! 8 He said, “This is wickedness,” and he pushed her
back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth. 9 Then I looked
up—and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had
wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth. 10 “Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking to me. 11 He replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When the house is
ready, the basket will be set there in its place.”
Sin that is not removed is like a malignant growth that slowly takes over the body. In
vision number 4 God promises to save His people apart from their efforts (through
Messiah’s work), and in visions 6 & 7 God promises He will remove the sin of His
Covenant People so they will be holy as God is holy, and so they will bring glory to
God’s name. These two visions address judgment and expiation (expunging the sin
of the people). God promises to remove our sin as far as the east is from the west.
(Ps 103:12) He has wonderful plans for us, His people.
This sermon will be available in audio and video platform on our website – faithrpc.org/sermons.

The Lord’s Supper
Congregational Song: “How Deep The Father’s Love For Us”
(Townend) (v. 1,2)
Verse 1:
How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.
Verse 2:
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life.
I know that it is finished.
Verse 3:
I will now boast in anything:
No gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom.
But I will boast in Jesus Christ:
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know will all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.
Lord’s Supper
Please hold the elements of bread and juice when distributed so we can partake together.
The offering during the hymn today will support Solanco Neighbored Ministries.

Greeters Meeting: Sunday March 8th directly after church service in the fellowship
hall outside the narthex. We are having a short meeting to discuss the greeter ministry
(tips, ideas, experiences etc.). All are welcome. There will be light refreshments.
Any questions please contact Beth Jackson (518-365-2174).
Missions Committee 2020 Vision: In Philippians 4:10 Paul wrote, “I rejoiced in the
Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were
indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity.” How can we at Faith Church
“revive our concern” for our missionaries? In 2020 the Missions Committee will
offer several opportunities for us to revive our concern for our missionaries in 2020.
Missions Conference: SAVE THE DATE! March 27-29, 2020, Faith Church will
host a Missions Conference where we may hear from missionaries who are serving
both the lost and their fellow missionaries overseas, ministering to orphans
worldwide, and speaking into the lives of prisoners in American prisons.
Would you like to help with us with meals, hospitality, decorations, and any other
aspects of the Missions Conference? Please contact Bob Holt today!
Pastor Search Committee Inquires: Have a question for the Pastor Search
Committee? We invite you to find Jessie Brown or Mark Broomell after the service
or email the committee at [email protected]. The video with Byron
Yawn from McGowan & Associates is also posted on YouTube. If you’d like to see
it, simply go to https://youtu.be/xWZ9ggIJ5.
The Pastor Search Committee has developed a Nomination Form where you can
suggest a potential candidate for consideration. The forms will be available at the
Welcome Center or see any Committee member. Our preference is that you get
permission, or at least inform any potential candidate before submitting their
name."

Nursery Workers Needed: We need help for this important ministry! Those who
have been faithful to serve are having babies themselves. We are looking for some
people to take place of our workers during this time. Please call the church office at
717-786-7559 to sign up.
Daylight Savings Time Starts Next Week: Don’t forget to “spring” forward next
Sunday. Get ready to lose an hour of sleep, but gain an extra hour of daylight!
Playground Announcement: We are pleased to announce that we have recently
installed our new playground! We hope the kids will enjoy it and that it helps them
tangibly see how Christ loves and cares for them. PARENTS – please realize that
we don’t have the resources to staff supervision of the playground area. So it is up
to you to set whatever boundaries you have for your children. Second, please
remember that as with all other areas on the church property, the “TWO-ADULT”
rule always applies – so if you are out there with children other than yours, please
find a second adult to sit with you – you can enjoy a time of fellowship together!
Impact a life – Impact a Community: The Public School is the largest mission
field in our country. Joy El Generation’s Bible Adventure has an opportunity to
teach God’s Word to our public school students. We are expecting great growth in
the attendance of our groups and need more volunteers to help us show the love of
Christ to these students from now until the middle of May. We need people to help
as listeners (small group mentors) in all of our groups. We are also seeking
someone to join the Quarryville leadership team on Tuesday afternoons as well
as someone to be secretary for our Providence group on Thursday mornings.
Thank you for considering this need. Contact: Tammy Brown 717-618-9839 or
email [email protected] for more information. Your help and prayers are
needed! www.joyelgeneration.org
