BUILDING MINISTRY REPORT FOR JULY

Our Goal $ 5772.00 Gifts Received $ 7237.49 Loan Balance $47729.80 During July we received a special gift from a family who has chosen to stay anonymous for $3796.79, which brought our total for July up to $7237.49. Count down to zero!!! On Jan 1st our loan balance was $89,856.65 and today seven months latter we are at $47,729.80. We have paid down the loan by $42,126.85. Dur-ing the next five months we need to average a little over $8500 per month including interest to have our beautiful home paid for in full. We say home because it’s God’s home. It’s home because people who love and care for each other gather here. It’s home because peo-ple share their good and bad time here. It’s home because people find and feel close to God here. We love this building that our fami-ly shares and invites the Holy Spirit to come and bless his children as we bless others. Wel-come Home!!

Questions, please talk with John, Brad or Doug

Operation Christmas Child needs:

School Supplies, Crayons and Coloring

A big THANK YOU goes

out to Lye and Katie Rip-pentrop for mowing the

church grounds. We know it takes a lot of your time to get the job

done, but you do a great job and it looks so nice. We are so appre-

ciative of this.

Another big THANK YOU goes out to Ste-ve Meyer. Steve has been keeping up the flower garden in the front of the church

for many of years. It looks so nice. Keep

up the good work and again thanks.

If you see these people please thank them

for their work they do. We are so blessed.

On Sunday August 26th

there will be a meeting for teacher and parents during

the coffee time to explain the upcoming changes in

our children’s K-6th grade Sunday

School. Also at this same time Pastor Dan will give a brief explanation to the rest of the congregation regarding these

changes.

The Youth Room is in need of a facelift!

The youth leaders and Christian Education

commission are asking for some help to pre-pare the room for paint-

ing and decorating. There are several pieces of furniture that need to

be moved out and the walls need to be cleaned. Anyone available to begin this

project on SATURDAY, AUGUST 25th

would be most appreciated.

school conferences on Sept. 4-5 in the cafeteria. There will

be a selection of gently used winter gear (snow pants, coats, gloves, hats, boots)

for families to take as needed for their children. Families are also asked to bring such items that their children have

outgrown to the Elementary Office (anytime during business hours) or bring

Women’s Retreat at Lake Beauty

The speaker for the women’s retreat at Lake Beauty this year is

Meagan Gillan, executive minister of the Evangelical Covenant Church’s Depart-ment of Women Ministries. “I heard Ruth Hill, former director of ECC’s women ministries, speak at a women’s retreat many years ago. She was by far my fa-vorite speaker ever at a women’s retreat. Because of the caliber of directors the

Covenant chooses, I fully expect Meagan to also present talks with depth and humor. I’m excited to hear her!” said Liz Wheeler. “I

think it’ll be a great weekend!” For women attending their first ever Women’s Retreat at LBBC, the cost is about $85, which is half off. However, the full price depends on which building you stay in (some will be more, some will be

less). Linens are available for an extra $10 fee. Other activities at the retreat include a silent auction (you can bring a themed gift basket to donate if you want—proceeds go to camp upkeep), workshops, hot tub and sauna, pontoon rides, na-ture walk, climbing tower and zip line, skeet shooting (for $10 ex-

tra), massage (for $30 extra) and more! Scholarships for the main registration fee are available; contact

Dan Wheeler for those. You can register online or by phone at 320-732-3218. Camp can

work with food allergies if you contact them ahead of time. The event is September 21-23. More information on the retreat, in-cluding online registration info, can be found at http://lbbc.com/

womens-retreat-fall.html. Liz will be driving her van and has room at this time for four more women. She’ll be leaving the church parking lot at 10 am on Sep-tember 21. They will be stopping in Hutchinson for lunch on the

way up.
