Fairlane Harbor
Vero Beach, Florida
Fairlane Harbor is a family owned park started in 1969. The first homes were placed
in 1971. It took twelve years to fill out the park. Folks here are mostly full time resi-
dents enjoying their retirement in this 55+ community. Located on the Intracoastal wa-
terway with only a short distance to all Vero Beach has to offer it is ideal for those
seeking an active lifestyle. HOA President Stacey Busman first got on the Board of
Directors in 2015. Their board has 5 members, there are two Vice Presidents, a Sec-
retary and a Treasurer.
Stacey sees the job of the HOA as insuring there are plenty of activities for residents
and working closely with management. The things she likes most about the park are
that it’s family owned, kept very clean and the community is very active. She and her
husband are in their second home—this one on stilts! There are many events includ-
ing a lavish Christmas party hosted by the park owner and a 4th of July celebration
featuring their own fireworks show.
The community is a mix of older homes dating back to it’s early days to brand new
ones with Jacobsen the preferred builder.
Many residents have upgraded
over the years moving to a larger
home or one overlooking the wa-
ter. Homes sell quickly as family
members alert others to availabil-
ity. Many families have several
close relatives as neighbors. This
is a close community where eve-
ryone knows everyone and peo-
ple look out for one another.
Second generation owner Joey
Stawara seems to truly enjoy
his job. He loves the people
there and has several family
members, including Dad—who
built it—living in the community.
Under his leadership the pro-
spectus was updated in 2005.
Joey estimates there are about
30% who snowbird. While he
enjoys a bit of a respite in the
summer he looks forward to the
uptick in activity their return will
bring.
The park is extraordinarily clean
and well maintained. Homes are
landscaped with unique and
beautiful plantings wherever you
go. It is obvious the residents take
great pride in their community.
The clubhouse features a large
dining area and hosted an FMO
HOA training seminar earlier this
year. The pool is heated and has
a lovely deck. Bingo is popular
along with many other regular ac-
tivities.
The park has a small marina and a boat ramp. There’s even a dock for fishing!
There are some truly
unique homes in Fairlane
Harbor!. This one looks
out over the water and I
bet the view is fantastic. If
you’re interested in more
info on this type of con-
struction get ahold of
Stacey—she has an in
